Ugg. He was hired at $150 to take care of deed work for closing. He didn't supply closing papers until day before. Common office fees I felt were excessive. $50 for a wire transfer, $25 to have a check mailed, $25 for a fax we neither requested nor authorized and knew nothing about, changed wording on original sales contract when transferred to closing document that may potentially change intent, charged extra day on taxes after closing, changed closing date. Very sloppy work, make sure he gives you plenty of time to hire an outside source to check his work. Check absolutely everything. He's out of touch to think that $25 here or an extra $50 there is no big deal to the common man. Only the fed ex charge was deleted. He feels we should pay for his assistant agreeing to $25 dollar fax with a third party. He doesn't think the tax for extra days is wrong - he might not get there to file the papers for a day or so I guess. He sure doesn't want the papers to show the money we agreed to pay in closing costs, wants it listed as a general credit to buyer instead. Supposedly I don't understand how complex send a wire transfer is....though I do that as a normal, daily part of my job! Now we have to hire another attorney to check his work and closing will be delayed. No telling what mistakes an attorney will find.
