I've worked with a lot of professionals before, but I have not seen anyone as responsive as this guy. He called me back right away and was right on top of my matter. He also sent me about a dozen text messages and e-mail reminders each time we had an appointment and kept following up with me on follow up steps. The only real issue was that he was a bit OCD on the follow-ups, and I don't think that I really needed as many prompts as I got, although I didn't supply the information that they asked for right away, and they kept asking me for it. Also, while the advice was good, they really kept it very granular and producing step by step charts and letters like I had no idea what I was doing, and needed to be walked through. So while that's good for some people, I thought I got a bit more attention than I really needed. Finally, they followed up with me a few months after we finished the project to ask whether I needed anything else, and how satisfied I was with the work. I did appreciate the follow-up and didn't think they were being sales driven at all when they called.
I spoke with four other attorneys before I went with Jeff. I retained him for assistance with my estate planning. Initially I thought I wanted a will, but I really had no idea what other options existed. Jeff was extremely thorough in evaluating all of my assets and laying out four different plans to accomplish my goals. He ultimately counseled me not to go with the two more expensive options and felt that he could achieve similar results for a lot less. I found his pricing to be upfront and fair. He was more expensive then two of the lawyers I had previously seen and a fraction of the cost of two others. I really liked the flat fee approach he offered.
I had the rare privilege of working with Mr. Katz on my estate planning and my mother's estate administration. He was an empathetic and effective advocate for my position and really helped my family out at a difficult time. We had a prior attorney who didn't understand our needs, but Mr. Katz came at our situation with a different and refreshed approach. Our prior attorney had indicated that we could spend well over $20,000 in legal fees, but Mr. Katz was able to resolve our issue for a small fraction of that cost.
We had a very POSITIVE experience with Attorney Jeffrey D. Katz. He was VERY interested in our situation, very thorough, very competent and knowledgeable, took action immediately calling for necessary facts to assist us right there on the spot, gave good advice, very professional yet REAL, and gets to the root of a problem. We left his office in peace. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND Attorney Katz as a professional source for legal assistance.
Recently Counselor Jeffrey Katz proved to be the perfect resource for handling an unwelcome letter from the IRS about a previous return. The fact that I was in his office within days speaks to his efficiency and compassion, as well as to his experience with the IRS. Within an hour, the mess created by my confidence in an on-line tax service, my attempt to e-file my taxes myself, and confusion on the part of the IRS was effectively resolved by Counselor Katz to everyone's satisfaction. It's great to find such expertise, professionalism, and sympathy in one person when confronted with such a worrisome problem as facing the IRS . If you need tax advice or support, don't hesitate to ask him for help.
Jeff represented my wife and I in our estate planning. After my wife passed he also helped with the probate on her estate. He is a very knowledgeable, compassionate and fair attorney. I feel lucky to have him on my side
Jeffrey Katz is our estate lawyer and has also assisted us in mortgage refinancing matters. He is very knowledgeable and helpful with regard to various technical details, and he has always been very pleasant in his dealings with my wife and me. I am a non-practicing attorney so I can appreciate the extend of Jeffrey's professional knowledge and ability.
Jeffrey Katz and I have co-counseld with one another on several cases. I never hesitate to recommend Jeffrey Katz to my clients who require counsel and representation in tax matters, estate planning or trusts.
**DESPERATE BLACK FAMILY** My wife and I required representation for a tax audit because of a rogue IRS auditor for multiple tax years. We spoke to the law office and let them know what we could afford up front. In the process of working with the law office we paid double what we could afford and was billed beyond our retainer without our knowledge. We ended up owing them in upwards of $18,000! This did not include the CPA (which shares the same office) that wanted to charge us $2500 per year for services! We did use the CPA for one year and realized the taxes were done wrong again! With discovering this we sought help from another tax office for help and our issues were resolved. Now we have an outstanding bill from JDKatz in which they seek payment for. We should not owe them anything. Clearly there has to be some sort of common sense being as though this is a law office. Be very careful when using this law office!
I hired him for my tax audit (2009/2010) .He stated that there nothing that he can do for 2010 audit.I sent a letter to IRS by myself and the issue was reasonably resolved. For my 2009 tax audit simultaneously he tried to sell me his state planning service and when I declined because I realized that information provided was not accurate he was frustrated discontinued to represent my case.
