I was told that unless I had a specific type of lung problem, it could not be done because I couldn't prove anything (I developed Stage 3 Breast Cancer one year after a normal mammogram and no famu history). Black mold was my concern and I know I could have moved if I was unhappy with how the property was maintained but for most of the 18+ years I lived there, I couldn't afford to move. I am also concerned with the current residents living there. I was told to call the city's Building Department. Well, thank you for information I could have figured out on my own. I have spoken to many professionals regarding my concerns and was even advised to contact an attorney as they believed I had a legitimate base for my concerns.
