WOW! What can I say about this attorney and his staff? I received stellar representation from Jeff Pierce. The easiest process I ever experienced. He and his staff were vigilent in keeping me informed of every minute detail of my case. They took my calls, returned my calls, and continually treated me and my family with dignity and respect. This is a first class firm!
We hired Jeff because he came highly recommended by other attorneys (non criminal). Jeff was honest and diligent in getting my son into the divert program. He knows the Legal system very well in Collin county and now my son's record is going to be wiped clean. Thanks Jeff for all your hard work.
Jeff represented me in a high profile sex crime case that was extremely difficult for my family and me. He did everything possible to get us the best possible end result for this case, and I know there is no way we would have been offered the plea we got if we had a different attorney. He was tirelessly attentive to details of the legal writing and made sure that nothing would come back to haunt us legally after the deal was made. There were many times that we wanted to just agree to the prosecution, but Jeff said it was worth waiting it out and getting an even better solution in the end. He was supportive, non-judgmental and caring. He knew exactly what to do when working with the prosecution and knew when to play what cards. He was literally a life saver to us, and we will always be indebted to him for his help.
Hired for representation in misdemeanor criminal cases. Immediately after cashing my large check, he had his receptionist screen any call I attempted to make to him. He would not listen to any suggestions I had for how I might be willing to settle my case. After several weeks of attempting to deal with his don't care attitude, I wnet to another lawyer but Mr. Pierce kept the entire fee but did nothing to earn any partof it. There's lots of criminal lawyers. Stay away from this one.
Mr. Pierce was hired to represent my son with the decision largely based on information on his website: "Mr. Pierce works with attorney Tom O'Connell, the elected Collin County Criminal District Attorney for 29 years. They understand how the other side works and fight hard to protect their clients' constitutional rights." The implication is that they have better connections with the Collin County DA's office. We wanted someone who could work with the DA to get my son in a drug rehab program....not expecting that he would 'walk' simply by going into treatment. Mr. Pierce 'appeared' in court at the first hearing -- and met my son in the hall -- the first time that the had met him. As is usually the case, the case was re-scheduled. We attempted to get Mr. Pierce to give us some indication of what he thought the DA would do with regard to treatment. (We strongly felt that our son would not go to treatment unless he was forced to do so.) He refused to return my calls. Within a month of hring him -- after our very heft fee check cleared his bank -- we sent him a termination notice and asked that 2/3's of the fee be refunded so we could hire someone who would take an interest in the case. No reply. Ever. Another registered letter got no response. Fortunately, we found an attorney who understood what we were trying to do. Our son was sentenced to 30 days jail and drug treatment and a 2 year probation. He has now been 'clean' for a year, has returned to college and is helping iothers who have substance abuse problems. While Mr. Pierce might be legally entitled to the full fee, ethically, he is not -- and he knows it. There ARE ethical defnse attorneys. I strongly suggest you find one -- and avoid using Mr. Pierce -- in spite of the hype on his website and smile on his face. (I checked 'have worked with more than 10 lawyers' because I engage corporate lawyers all over the country for my company. )
