I was arrested for DWI and the police said I failed all of the tests. A friend told me to call Jay Cohen. Jay is very smart, he told me how this whole process was going to work and how he would handle it. I had so many questions and Jay was always available to answer them. He is a really honest and hard working lawyer. He promised me he would fight it until the end and that's what happened. He got my case dismissed. I recommend Jay to all of my friends. Thank you!

A friend recommended I call Jay immediately after I was arrested. I thought there was no way to win my case. I met with Jay and he was very realistic and promised me he would do everything he could. It was a long process, we had to go to court so many times. Jay didn't call very often but I found out that is because he had no reason to call, apparently the criminal system works very slowly. Once Jay had all of the evidence we sat down and went through it all, and then he said we should go to trial. This only delayed things further, but we went to trial and we WON! Thank you Jay! I would highly recommend Jay Cohen to everyone!

Charged with two first degree felony drug charges I thought my life was over. Jay Cohen was amazing, first he listened to me and believed this wasn't me. It was a mistake but I needed out of it. I thank God for Jay Cohen. I have a second chance now, this will never happen again. I was with the wrong people who were moving a lot of work. When you need the best lawyer ever to defend you, call Jay Cohen. I send all my friends.

Jay Cohen is an incredible attorney. He won my case in a jury trial! He fought the DA the whole time. The people testifying looked so dumb when Jay asked them things, he is very smart and made them change their story after what they said to the DA. After trial Jay got everything removed from my record. Thank you so much Jay!!!!!!!

I was charged with felony drug possession and didn't know what to do. I met with Jay Cohen and didn't know how I could afford to hire him, but I had to. It was worth it! After 10 months of going to court, Jay got my case dismissed!!!! It was a really stressful situation for me and I am so thankful for Jay Cohen's help.

Simply stated, getting a DWI is Hell. From the second you are arrested, an overwhelming sense of dread washes over you. You have no idea what your future holds. You feel completely powerless and ill-informed all day, every day. The one thing you can and must do is hire the right attorney. Beyond providing you with the best legal defense possible, having a great lawyer eases some of the anticipatory stress one experiences as their trial date draws near. I learned this lesson the hard way. A couple of years ago, I was arrested for driving under the influence just a few blocks from my own home in the Woodlands. It was a surreal experience, but I did as a very wise lawyer once advised me. I shut my mouth and refused to submit to a breathalyzer without my attorney present. I acquiesced to the rudimentary field sobriety tests one would generally expect in a DWI arrest (lots of balancing on one foot and following a flashlight with your eyes). Next thing I knew, I was in handcuffs in the back of a police car on my way to Montgomery County Jail. After what seemed like an eternity, I made bail. My first phone call was to Jay Cohen. While I had the luxury of knowing Jay socially for a considerable amount of time, our friendship had absolutely nothing to do with my decision to acquire his services. Jay is laser-focused, whip smart, dynamic, and charismatic. Nothing gets past him. Most importantly, the man knows what he is doing. DWI law is extremely esoteric, lengthy, and specific. Jay is an expert on every facet of the subject. For consistency's sake, there are very strict procedural guidelines in place that police officers must follow during the administration of a field sobriety test. Deviations from these guidelines can result in a officer's findings being declared inadmissible in court. Jay capitalized on his knowledge of these guidelines by demonstrating the officer's failure to properly administer several tests during my arrest. Nystagmus is a rapid eye movement that commonly accompanies dizziness or intoxication. In court, nystagmus and blood alcohol content are the only forms of evidence that are considered "scientific". I did not submit to a breathalyzer; so, that scientific component was already absent. Jay saw an opportunity here. If he could find some way to get my nystagmus tests thrown out, the case would be completely devoid of scientific evidence. A nystagmus test must be performed in a very specific way to be considered evidence of intoxication in a court of law. During this test, the officer instructs the suspect to follow a bright flashlight with his or her eyes. The guidelines explicitly state where to hold the flashlight and for how long. Using my arrest video and a stopwatch, Jay expertly demonstrated that this officer's nystagmus test did not comply with established procedures. Consequently, the judge did not allow the results of my nystagmus testing to be considered. The nystagmus test was the backbone of the prosecution's entire case. Absent any scientific evidence, the prosecution knew that a conviction was virtually impossible and dropped the charges. The fact that Jay Cohen knew more about nystagmus testing than an actual cop is the only reason in the world that I don't have a criminal record and I will owe him for the rest of my life. He is a genius and I truly do not know where I would be right now without his help.

Today Mr. Cohen called me and told me they drop my charges ... every case is different but believe me Mr. Cohen will work his hardest to get you the best results on your case... like I said he don’t beat around the bush he will tell you what you could be facing and tell you what he can do about it so if anybody is looking for a lawyer this is the man you want to be by your side...Thank you Jay...

In 2016 I was detained by the police and was taken into custody for failure to ID. I had a friend who used Jay Cohen's services a couple years prior and was able to get his DWI case dismissed due to a technicality. I immediately contacted Jay. He was available to meet with me right away and was point blank with how he wanted to proceed. Being that I had no priors it was really important to me that my record remain clean. I was very lucky to have a lawyer that was determine to keep it that way as well. The whole situation was unfortunate but Jay never made me feel like I were just his client. Jay develops a relationship, and defends you as if you were a long time friend. I was blessed to get referred to a lawyer so passionate about the law. My case was dismmised a couple months later thanks to Jay. Houston needs more lawyers like Jay Blass Cohen!

Jay is an excellent Attorney, he is very knowledgeable and professional. I was charged with a DWI when I was actually the passenger of the vehicle that was involved in an accident. When I went to Jay's office and explained my case to him he was very upfront with me on what to expect and he immediately had his investigator start interviewing witnesses. After going to court 3 times my case was dismissed. I appreciate everything Jay did to assist me during this process, I would recommend him to anyone seeking legal council for DWI or DUI related charges.
