About
Jason Tyler Landress has been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1997, when he moved here from Long Island, N.Y. with his family. In 2001, upon graduating from the newly formed Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, Jason pursued his undergraduate degree at the University of Denver where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and graduated with honors (Cum Laude and Phi Betta Kappa). Jason then attended Washburn University School of Law where he developed his passion for trial advocacy. In 2007, after winning a place on Washburn’s highly ranked Moot Court team, Jason was twice selected by the law school faculty to represent Washburn nationally in both the John J. Gibbon’s Criminal Procedure Competition held at Seton Hall University School of Law in New Jersey and the Judge James J. Braxten Craven Jr. Moot Court Competition held at the University of North Carolina School of Law. At both competitions, he led his team to the finals, securing both a semi-finalist and quarter- finalist trophy for Washburn. Based on his passion for advocacy while at Washburn, Jason graduated in 2008 with a Certification in Trial Advocacy, which was presented to him by Washburn’s Center for Excellence in Advocacy. It was this same group that selected him to become a member of Washburn’s chapter within The Order of Barristers (a national honorary organization whose purpose is to provide national recognition for individuals who have excelled in advocacy and service at their respective schools). From 2009 – 2012, Jason was a Deputy District Attorney for El Paso County. He took to trial many cases ranging from major traffic and DUI offenses; misdemeanors including domestic violence, assaults, child abuse, etc.; as well as both adult and juvenile felonies. He was made a member of the Vehicular Homicide and Assault Unit and worked for a short time in the Juvenile Special Victims Unit. It was through these experiences he learned that he was called to be an advocate for those who had been wronged or injured through no fault of their own. Jason is a member of the Colorado and El Paso County Bar Associations, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, and is admitted to practice before Colorado’s State and Federal Courts, including the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation. In 2012, Jason was appointed the Vice Chair of the New Lawyers Section of the El Paso County Bar Association and is currently the Chair of that Section. Jason also became a member of Christian Legal Society while in law school and, upon graduating, became a member of the Colorado Springs Chapter of Christian Legal Society. Shortly after becoming a member, Jason was asked to serve on the Board of Directors as well as Chair the group’s Outreach Committee. In an effort to pass along his passion for advocacy to a future generation, Jason also coaches the Mock Trial Team at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and has led the team to a national competition every year he has coached.

Mr. Landress did an amazing job. I would highly recommend him. He walked me through every step of the procedure, as well as securing me a dismissal on my behalf. Thanks for doing an amazing job!
It taken me a few weeks to sort through emotions that I had been bottling up for months while we went through the whirlwind that having a court case can be. I felt it appropriate that today, as I am reminded of things I am thankful for, I take time to express our gratitude towards our attorney Jason Landress. As a parent, you know that there will be bumps in the road however you never expect to have to sit in a court room, holding your breath each time hoping that the information on your case will be delivered in a way that is honest and clear. Jason was not the first attorney we interviewed. In fact he was the fourth however, I knew from our first consult that this was a man of integrity and that if anyone could get to the bottom of how things unfolded that he would do so with as much passion and commitment as I bring to parenting my children. Jason was thorough, thoughtful and was able to connect not only to us as the parents of the defendant but also to our daughter. Every step of the way, Jason was forthcoming with what we could expect to happen, what would be expected of us and any decision or communication the court had with him. Even when we were ready to buckle under the pressure this had on our family Jason was sensitive to our feelings and supported any decision we made while still advising us on our options which ultimately led to us seeing this all the way through. Jason was able to secure a full dismissal of all charges on our daughters behalf. He genuinely was invested in our case and did everything he could to not only get to the truth but also express to the court the complicated intricacies that were affecting our case. I will always be grateful to Jason for all the effort he put into our case in search of the truth, in search of what was right and in support of our daughter.
In 2017/18 I was detained in Douglas County being accused of de-frauding someone out of goods more than $10,000- $50,000. No matter how many times I tried to explain my innocence & that I actually had permission to perform these actions; Douglas County would not hear me out! They wanted to make me into this hard mass criminal who robs people of life. Being young and also African American the system is not an ideal place to be when you are striving for greatness. I feared this would scar me for life leaving me wondering what would life really be like for my family and children and my chances of completing law school. One day after 3yrs I built the courage up and faced my fear and contacted Attorney Landress who was very kind, a good listener of detail, spiritual led and nonetheless a straight bullet that motivated me to conquer my problems. He let me know that the journey would not be easy but he re-assured me that if I was ready to take on this battle he would be willing to ride all the way no matter the outcome. I hired him one day later encouraged that he was definitely the right choice & that I didn't need anyone else to do this job. In this moment I felt as if GOD spoke through him to me; he literally addressed majority of all my issues without me ever having to say much at all, it was MIND-BLOWING ! We researched, and much of the evidence I had he never understood why they didn't dismiss this case. Detail of evidence: Letters (notarized), receipts, & Vital records/documents showing I actually told the truth. He knew at this point without a doubt this case was possibly provable based on the information but once again they fought against it saying I was being held responsible. They offered many different pleas which we never accepted and we continuously went to the drawing board thinking of new approaches for them to get this same information. Landress then called me one night I was out with my family and said I think I figured it out but its no guarantee it will work but lets throw it at them and see what we get ( I was so excited), then he called back and told me we no longer had the same DA some probably shouldn't use that approach anymore. Not only was this case becoming time consuming but this case was even to unique to him seeing the facts! Jason literally worked relentlessly and walked with me through this whole experience!!! He really made me feel like more than my client, I pictured him as family & will always cherish him as family because of the way he treated me through such terrifying experience, I mean truly amazing beyond words. Patient is an understatement ,He got to know my children me and my wife and over time no matter what the news was good/bad he was always there. After a few months we heard nothing due to covid but once things started to open back up we started to get more deeper into the details of things so we can come up with a resolution to the issue. After such a long wait without hearing anything Jason called me on 11/15/21 @8:45pm est and let me know that Douglas County has officially moved for a FULL DISMISSAL and that they would be entering a motion to TERMINATE with no STIPULATIONS. I am pleased with his work, honesty and dedication to his craft and only GOD would be-able to award him with the gift that he deserves because what he has done for me and my family I can never repay him for. I pray on every level that GOD provides him with all of his desires that he longs for and bring him much more success in his future endeavors & ONE DAY! I can be half of the Attorney/Judge that he has been to me. THANK YOU!!
I just can't say enough about Jason and his abilities as an attorney; investigative skills, thoroughness / attention to details, relationships with opposing attorney's / DAs ... (it's obvious the legal community think highly of him). But most of all, it is his personal investment in the case he's handling; he genuinely cares about your case to that "next level". I've been represented by a number of attorney's over the years and Jason by far exceeds expectations. In sports terms, Jason's not only a "five star" but a "generational talent". Thank you Sir for securing a complete dismissal of our case. You rock!!
I had a great experience with Jason Landress. Throughout the case Jason was very respectful and punctual. This was my first time in trouble so it was nice that Jason made sure that I had a clear understanding every step of the way. I liked how Jason made it comfortable when talking about the case, felt like I was talking to a friend. When we went to court Jason went well over my expectation when he secured a complete dismissal on my case. Now that the case is dropped I can sleep a lot better and put this case behind me. So, if you need a great Lawyer that will go over and beyond Jason is your guy!
Mr. Landress is fantastic at what he does. I needed a professional in divorce cases considering mine went to trial and he did not back down. He pays attention to the details, even the smallest detail comes to light with his skill. He is fantastic in trial, he isn’t afraid to stand up and he doesn’t back down, he will fight for you no matter who you’re up against. He puts in the time and the work allowing you to feel like you’re not fighting alone, and that someone truly cares about you. He is very honest about his professional opinion and will give it to you straight. If you come upon the unfortunate event of trial, he doesn’t quit, he stood by me every step of the way and fought for my rights. He has an amazing way of putting tremendous pressure on the opposing council, nothing gets past him. He is relentless in his quest for justice. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Landress in any legal situation, but if the forces of evil are fighting against you and you feel helpless, he’s absolutely who you need in your corner.
My wife and I hired Jason Landress to deal with a sensitive family matter. Jason was a professional, and kept our minds at ease through explaining the law, the process, and his recommendations for possible paths forward to address the issue. Following his advice, we received an outcome to our situation which was even better then we originally hoped when we retained him. We highly recommend Jason for anyone seeking a lawyer in his field, and will be retaining him again in the future for our family.
Jason’s tireless efforts are super appreciated. Very knowledgeable and thorough. I highly recommend him as an attorney.
When my 17-year old daughter was struck in her Subaru (which was later, "totaled") and carted away in an ambulance to Parker Adventist emergency room due to being crushed from a 40-year old lady who hit her in the back left part of her car, I was shocked to meet the responding police officer in the emergency room and handed a citation for "Careless Driving" by my daughter. When I challenged the officer about the incident and how could my daughter - who was hit in the rear end by the other driver - be charged with careless driving, I didn't receive clear answers. I was very suspect of this experience and began to personally investigate the evidence provided by the police department. After receiving the police report (which stated NOTHING about careless driving) and seeing the videos from several of the police officers at the scene, it was clear to me that this officer hit "the easy button" and blamed the young, 17-year old driver in some concocted way that she caused the accident that totaled her car, put her in the hospital and then charged her with a ticket. I sought Jason's help to first consult with me (and my daughter) and felt very comfortable that he clearly believe this "dad" and that I wasn't just looking for an "out." We agreed to hire him and he quickly began the process to seek all the evidence surrounding this case. After reviewing the data, Jason, my daughter and I sat through a 2-hour Zoom session where he interrogated my daughter, gained clarity on the event, sought to clarify a few points and then discussed the case with us. Jason thoughtfully went through the details and how he would fight for a full dismissal without preconditions or any caveats (like forcing my daughter to go to a driver safety school, at our expense). Discussing this situation with Jason was very easy for our young daughter and we both felt confident in Jason's guidance. The fact that he was energetic, detailed, funny and very easy to talk to made our experience a good one -- so far. But then came the trial date. We met Jason at the Parker court house, re-reviewed the key points of our defense, did a little "pre-game" huddle of sorts and off he went to represent us. After 30 minutes, he came back with good news that the prosecutor was either going to fully dismiss our case or dismiss it with conditions (Driver school). When the last court date was set, we never had to attend the session since the prosecutor completely agreed with Jason's defense of my daughter and dismissed the case completely, without precondition -- a perfect outcome. We would confidently recommend Jason to others based not only on the great outcome he earned for us but for his professional approach, thoughtfulness of the details and his creative thinking. You'll be happy with him and will enjoy his legal representation and his active, energetic engagement.
Jason is an amazing lawyer. Previous to hiring Jason I had a different lawyer. I knew that I needed someone who would advocate for my son and I, after talking to Jason I knew he would take the time and effort that my case needed. He paid so much attention and care to my case and knew the law better than anyone else I had spoken with. I did get the outcome I wanted, but even if I hadn't I knew that Jason did everything he possibly could. He was the first person that took the time to listen to me, and I could tell how much he cared. I hope I would never need another family lawyer, but if I did I would absolutely go to Jason first.
