We hired Jason Halpern to help with a bullying situation. He was initially to write a letter, putting the school on notice that we had retained an attorney. He never wrote a letter. Never even produced one for us. But what he DID do was send endless questions via email. This was AFTER the basic do diligence one would expect. He wanted to hire an expert witness - but we weren’t in court. He came up with MORE questions after we’d answered the first and second round of questions, and had provided him necessary paperwork and evidence. In the end, it appears he was only interested in padding his bill. We went through over half of our retainer - thousands of dollars - and NEVER even had a letter sent, which was the first step we discussed when we hired him. Shameful.

Took my medical malpractice case on commission and agreed to pay all expenses. He sought an opinion from a nonprofessional and then started complaining on how much getting medical opinions would cost. Weeks went by and he did nothing to move things forward.
