About

David has practiced law in the area of real estate, land use, construction and homeowner law since 2003. He spent ten years at a boutique land use firm in Vancouver, Washington and a year at a large insurance defense litigation firm in Portland before coming to Vial Fotheringham in 2012. Prior to 2003, he worked as a consultant and certified law clerk at the same land use firm for two years after leaving the environmental engineering field. His few years of engineering experience covers environmental permitting, hazardous waste management, remediation, project management, surveying and litigation support in areas of petroleum and volatile organic chemical impacted soil, groundwater and sediment working for a large national engineering consulting firm in Portland. His engineering experience also covered areas of chemical analysis, water quality and natural systems engineering. This background proves very valuable in evaluating evidence and working with experts in litigation and working out solution in construction cases.

We gave him a budget of 20k to solve a relatively simple easement issue. After 26k we fired him. All he gave to our new lawyer was paper emails, not even a zip drive to search. Zero research, zero case law. Nothing. If he had any integrity he'd offer to do our appeal for free. How he made partner is beyond me.
