About
My job is to help people. I defend people accused of crimes like public corruption, health care fraud, bank fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, and a multitude of other state and federal crimes. I defend doctors, nurses, and health care businesses in audits and False Claims Act cases. I also help them avoid trouble before it starts, as well as assist when subpoenas and search warrants are served. I also advise Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering compliance officers how to maintain a reasonable and appropriate AML program. I defend clients aggressively, conducting my own investigations instead of relying on the information provided by the government. The most effective defense is one based on all the available information, not just the minimal amount of evidence the law requires the prosecution to turn over to the person being prosecuted. I've tried jury trials in state and federal court, criminal and civil.I've been behind the government's curtain. My connections and experience as a federal prosecutor give clients a distinct advantage and increases the chances of a positive outcome in their cases.

I contacted Mr Gilbert late one afternoon after coming to the realization that just because I didn’t commit the crime I was accused of didn’t mean I didn’t need a good attorney. I had just been told that I was looking at 10 years and it was clear that the prosecutor wasn’t interested in what I believed proved my innocence. I was extremely scared when I called and Mr Gilbert was with his family but took the time to hear me out and he immediately answered what he could of my questions as if I was a valued client although we didn’t know each other which made me comfortable putting my fait in his hands. I’ll admit Mr Gilbert is best at being an attorney rather than a shoulder to cry on and my suggestions on strategies and opinions about him not doing enough were not all that welcomed but I didn’t understand the realities of the legal system and was afraid so I certainly felt bad about insinuating he wasn’t doing enough. (Especially when he called to inform me that my case had been dismissed lol.)
Mr Gilbert was diligent in working with my case to present the evidence and proof of innocence. He file petition with the court to attempt to get it thrown out in advance. He listened and spoke to me with professionalism and care. He explained the process well and prepared me for all possible results.
Mr. Gilbert helped me out with a minor case and treated it very professionally. He helped me understand where I was, since this was my first incident and the seriousness. He wa's very straight forward and even sat with me in the court room while the judge heard my case.
Scott Gilbert served as the attorney for my son's DUI case. Selecting Mr. Gilbert to handle the case proved to be a very wise decision. Attorney Gilbert represented my son in court and we (my son and I) appreciated the way Scott handled the case. Scott was very professional, effective, knowledgeable, and gave a strong impression about courtroom procedures. Based on attorney Gilbert's performance, I would gladly recommend him to friends and associates.
He was very helpful, stayed in contact and yes you could reach him all of the time, not a voicemail or waiting for a call back, He was excellent and would highly recommend him . One of the best ,very professional.
I hired him thinking since he had prosecutor experience he would make a good defense attorney. I feel like he sided with the prosecution throughout my defense. To his credit, he was always available and accessible. Never hire a former prosecutor to defend you.
