I retained Mr. Raynor for a child custody matter. It was a complex case but ended with the best possible outcome. I would recommend him highly to anyone in central Virginia with any kind of domestic issue. He is smart and well prepared, and I noticed how the judges respected him. If nothing else, I would recommend retaining him so that your former spouse does not!
There are few things that change your life as much as a divorce or custody change, so there are few things that are more worth investing in than your legal representation. Mr. Raynor was recommended to me as the best divorce attorney in the area with the caveat that he is expensive and works for an hourly rate (not a retainer). I found that recommendation to be completely accurate. Mr. Raynor knows the law, knows the judges, and prepares impeccably for his cases. He will not be caught off guard. He is savvy enough to know when to concede, but he makes a point of understanding what your personal priorities are in the divorce. When there is an issue that is important to you, he will fight - and he is as hard-nosed as they come when it comes to that. While he is expensive, I felt that he was judicious in how he spent his time and did not run up unnecessary bills. For instance, when there were tasks that I could perform (versus him doing them at his hourly rate) he gave me the option of doing so. I found Mr. Raynor to be invariably courteous, and he was always prompt and responsive to my calls and e-mails (responding within a matter of hours at most). My divorce was a particularly acrimonious one, and I could not have realistically asked for a better outcome than the one that he helped me achieve. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone who is facing a divorce or child custody situation.
Mr. Raynor handled my husband's custody and visitation case several years ago. He was able to move through a very hostile situation and reach a settlement. He has the ability to communicate in a way that is effective. He works hard to settle cases rather than take those involved through the trial process.
Mr. Raynor is a truly excellent lawyer. At first I retained another lawyer who misled me and was not at all helpful. Once I switched to Mr Raynor I could tell the difference immediately. I am also a professional so I can say with confidence that he is extremely bright and thorough in everything he does. I told him once, and it is true, that absolutely every thing he said would happen did, and exactly as he predicted. I felt extremely confident that he cared about me as a person and not just as a client, and I knew he would represent my best interests fairly at all times. Without a moment's hesitation I would highly recommend him. I honestly cannot imagine a better lawyer.
Very egotistical self-serving personality. Many better lawyers to choose from.
star only reviewwoman on the phone wanted me to pay $750 and sign a retainer before ever having a conversation with the attorney. Paying this would alert my husband to my intentions and cause a potential shutdown of my funds. Therefore, before I spend a cent I need to make sure it’s a good fit. This is a major life decision and will cost much more than $750 in the long run. I’m hiring an attorney to help me rearrange my entire life and get custody of my children. There’s no way I’m giving that job to someone before I’ve met them. Other attorney’s I’ve seen have agreed to a consult first.
