Janet did an amazing job! She was my first experience ever working with a lawyer. And she is worth her weight in GOLD. She and her staff did a superb job at keeping me informed and up to speed and up to date throughout my entire process. I received excellent communication along the entire way. Originally, I had asked around who was the best in town and her name came up repeatedly. I retained her services and never once felt like I had made a poor decision. She is very well informed and cuts right to the chase. She doesn't play games. And she never wasted my time. I got exactly what I paid for... the best! Janet was able to do for me what I didn't have the knowledge to do for myself. In the end, she got me 99.9% of everything that I asked for in court. Anytime I share about my experience I always give Janet a ton of praise. Without her, I would never have succeeded in the way that I did. I would highly recommend Janet to anyone going through a divorce / custody / parenting time / child support matter.
I am very grateful to Janet for sticking with me through a long custody battle. She got me through the rough times and eventually won my case. I recommend Janet to anyone dealing with family issues.
Janet was referred to me by a friend and came highly recommended; I asked a few other people and her name was at the top of everyone's list as the best person to hire for my divorce. I was married for a long time to a military service member soon to retire and we have three kids. I thought my divorce would be easier and more amicable than it was and was not prepared for the emotions and hurt feelings that come with separating our lives; legal matters, court proceedings, paperwork, etc. can all be very overwhelming and stressful. Janet and her staff were always available to answer my questions and make me feel like she had everything under control when I certainly felt like a mess. The packet of information you complete in the beginning was helpful, I didn't have to think when I really couldn't focus. I just went through the information step by step like a check list and gathered all of the information she needed to get started. My divorce entailed military retirement which can be a complicated process, as well as the separation of assets, child support and the usual who gets what. Janet was well versed and up to date on the military, what I was entitled to, how the calculations are figured and also had contacts of additional experts and support for trial and document preparation which allowed me to be successful in court. Janet always seemed well prepared for whatever challenge was presented in my case and was able to successfully navigate through them; I believe her years of experience have given her the ability to be a powerful advocate for her clients. All court documents were well prepared, in a timely manner and most of the time all that was needed was my review, approval and signature. My case was decided by the Judge at trial, the outcome was more favorable than I ever believed would occur. I believe this is 100% a result of the efforts of my attorney and her preparedness, performance in trial and our communication of the issues specific to my situation prior to trial. In my opinion and in my experience, having an attorney you can communicate with effectively, feel comfortable with and trust your life and future with are essential. I believe there are many capable attorneys that will do a fair and adequate representation to the best of their ability. I also believe it is a much rarer thing to find an attorney who's ability exceeds most. In my experience with Janet as my attorney and observing first hand the other attorneys serving as opposing counsel, I can confidently say, I believe that Janet's ability does in fact exceed most. I would highly recommend her services.
Janet was a fantastic choice for an attorney everything I had heard from both former clients and ex spouses of former clients. Janet worked diligently to solve my child support issues and kept me informed along the whole way. When we couldn't meet in person Janet and I were able to keep in contact either on the telephone, via text message or email. I would love to say it was a great experience however due to the issues we were facing it was anything but. However working with her lessened my stress.
I retained Janet Metcalf as my attorney when I went through my divorce. I appreciated Janet's professionalism and demeanor. She was direct, blunt, and honest without being demeaning or unkind to either me or my ex-wife. She supported me and provided good guidance. She is knowledgeable and explains things to ensure her client is clear and understands. I understand this is what I should expect since she is basically working for me. However, I've had a lot of interaction with other attorneys so I've been exposed to those who are the opposite. I also know she can be very determined when fighting for her client which is also what one should expect from their attorney.
When considering a Family Lawyer, look up Modest Means, She represented my child in a custody case, I was told by her assistant ' If I wanted to see my daughter pay may fees" Her office is group of Attorney's in the area that prays off the poor people in Yuma, they have been in this area for years, and work off what they say in Yuma. "Good old Boy System" they know the Judges, most of them where Attorney's in the area before. Neglecting; My daughter, Janet visited her once in two years, never addressing any of the neglect evidence brought to her attention, and in court, lied and testified on my daughter's behalf, outside the scope of a Best Intrest Attorney's responsibility. She had facts that her Client was abused by an Older Gentleman, 51 years old, who had a history of child neglecting. Janet never ordered the child examed or personally visited the child to check on her well-being. Ask yourself, Would you trust your Family with this representation.
