I have had Ms. Lubon handle my legal affairs for over ten years. These have included divorce, bankruptcy, wills, and lawsuits. My comment to her each time is the same; "You do not give me the answers that I want to hear, but I know that they are the correct answers". Do not retain her if you want a lawyer that makes a lot of promises and tells you what you think you want to hear. Definitely retain her if you want the job done correctly and with minimal expense. She would not make a good politician but she would make an excellent law professor!
She was very knowledgeable in her field. She got the job done quickly, and she was only a phone call away if I had questions. She explained the process in detail, there were no surprises.
Horrible, horrible, do not hire this lawyer. Left me hanging and dropped me as a client without even telling me. Totally dropped the ball.
I was charged for her review of emails she never responded to. I asked her on several occasions to enter my case into court and she didn't. When she finally responded by telling me she would make up the proper paperwork and enter/ file it the following day. I then did not hear from her for about 2 weeks, even upon several attempts on my part. When she finally responded, she told me she had not yet entered it, like she said she would in an email I am sure she charged me for sending, and instead she was going to ask for a settlement that was not nearly what I had explained in the emails in which she had charged me for reviewing, that I needed. She kept telling me that she was at court hearings as an excuse for not getting back to me, but when I went in to drop off paperwork I was told she was on lunch, not at a hearing on one of those occasions. She made my case worse and now I need to find another attorney and start all over again, having wasted all the time and money she charged me for making my case and my situation worse. The only thing she reimbursed was a portion of the retainer which she had not yet used. I spent approximately $2000 to make my case even worse. She also did not want to fight for my child support, as my ex is trying to lower it to manipulate the divorce settlement, saying it would cost too much to try to prove that my ex was lying about his taxes, when we had proof on paper. That we would need to spend way too much on a forensic accountant, so it wouldn't be worth my money to fight it. I'd suggest only going to her if you have something that is simple and not going to ruin your life, should you lose the case. I went to her because she had written up the divorce agreement, but I still had to point out all the things that were not being upheld in the agreement to her and she still didn't attempt to go after half of the things I'd pointed out that we had added to the agreement to keep me safe in the first place. Don't chance using this attorney for something that could affect the rest of your life. When I asked her if my ex husband could get in trouble for bigamy, as the woman he married is treating my son terribly and I thought it could help resolve the problem for my son, she told me that the courts were too busy with murders, etc. to care about it and that my son and I should basically just deal with it. Now, I still do not have my settlement. Child support could possibly be threatened. My son is dealing with being treated badly, custody is not being followed (I was told it was best not to resolve this, either) and I'm left with properties from my settlement which are trashed and costing me money and I'm out those attorney's fees.
