After months of filings and delays, the case suddenly screeched to a halt. He ultimately told me that he withdrew the case without my knowledge or permission. Naturally, I retained counsel, who informed me that Jan had missed a filing deadline, and this was the true reason my case was dismissed. I obtained a judgement against him. I have had to haul him into court three times since. The guy keeps making promises to pay that he doesn't follow though on. Yes, he's made some payments. However, five years after entry of an order of judgement, it remains unsatisfied. It's hard to accept that he gets away with this behavior.
