About

I am a North Carolina native.  I grew up and went to high school in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.  I am the first attorney in my family.  My father works in the timber industry and my mother is a retired school teacher.  I first moved to Raleigh to attend  North Carolina State University.  Thereafter, I left NC to attend law school in the state of Georgia.  Immediately upon graduation, I returned to North Carolina.  I currently live in downtown Raleigh with my wife and young son.  Our family believes it is important to be deeply rooted in the heart of our community. We are members of First Presbyterian Church in downtown Raleigh which is where our child attends preschool.   When not focusing time serving my clients, I enjoy spending time in the outdoors with my family.  I am also an avid supporter of NC State Wolfpack athletics.  I am a member of many professional assocations focused on helping others through the practice of law.  I am also regularly involved with providing pro bono legal services to clients of The Healing Place of Wake County, a non-profit entity helping homeless Wake County residents dealing with addiction.

I had two DWI's and was on the verge of losing my license for a substantial period of time. I was convicted of one but was found "not guilty" of the other. I owe this guy my livelihood as I would have certainly lost my job had I been convicted of both charges. He was honest and fair and extremely informative. He did an excellent job trying my case that was winnable, and he was forthcoming about my case that was not. I regularly recommend him to my friends who also need assistance. He was always available to answer my questions which has not been the case with other attorneys I've worked with.

I contacted Jayme after being charged with a DWI in Raleigh. Other than a couple of speeding tickets, I had never been in any kind of trouble. Needless to say, I was extremely worried about the situation. Jayme spent time telling me everything that was going to happen, assured me that we would work together to take care of it, and even worked with me on a payment schedule for his fee. Though I was convicted almost a year later, Jayme was with me every step of the way and even followed up after everything was said and done. A terrible situation was made manageable thanks to Jayme, and I have and will recommend him as an attorney.

I was facing my 3rd dwi, I was ashamed and lost. My father found Mr. Jackson and hired him as my lawyer . Upon meeting him,he made me feel at ease. He told me the facts about my case and what I was facing. Which at this point I thought I had lost everything. One day I was driving and I got a cal from Leigh Ann and I started crying and shouting for joy!!! My case was dismissed !!! And I had another chance!!! And that’s because of Mr. James Jackson. It stills brings tears to my eyes! Thank you

I was referred to you after I found myself in a situation for the first time in my life. After being arrested for a DWI, I was concerned and very uncomfortable not understanding the process. You and Leigh Ann made me feel very comfortable and reassured me that I was in good hands. You are my hero and will recommend you to anyone who finds themselves in the same situation as me. I had never been arrested and found myself in the need of legal assistance. You kept me informed of your plans and the progression of the case. On the last day of court, being found not guilty was something I could not imagined in my wildest dreams. I want to thank you for the professionalism of you and Leigh Ann. I felt like the most important client on your caseload. Thanks for all you have done for me.

I have been involved in legal issues twice so far during my study in NC State. It's really bad to be caught in such situations, especially as an international student. It's Jamie who greatly helped me out of those cases. He understood my concerns for potential implications of the cases on my student visa. He managed to achieve the best results for the two cases both of which were dismissed. For my cases, he was very kind to make the fees affordable, definitely in the low end as far as I have searched.

I hired Jayme as my attorney for my first DUI. From the very start he was easy to communicate with, professional and understanding. Any questions I had he was always available to answer. I was extremely impressed on how Jayme handled my case AND he succeeded in having my DUI dismissed! I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I had contacted Mr. Jackson to represent me for my DWI and speeding ticket. Like many others, I had never been in ANY trouble before other than speeding tickets. I was referred to him by a friend of mine after she had given rave reviews with his professionalism and understanding of the situation which ultimately echoed throughout my experience as well. Not only did he represent me in my case, but was also able to advise on other services in relation to my case. Mr. Jackson and his assistant were always prepared and kept me informed. He was always realistic with my outcome, but his hard work of preparation showed in the courtroom. It's comforting to know that if I am ever in any trouble again, I know who to call.

I hired James to defend me in what turned out to be a very involved dui case. At the beginning of the process I felt my odds of beating the charges against me were not very good. However James looked at at least two different approaches for my defense. He researched each one extensively and made strong arguments based on case law pointing to the fact that my civil rights had been violated. His attention to detail and persuasive oratory on my behalf led to the eventual dismissal of all charges against me. One last comment. After a hearing we had I was discussing my case with James and I thanked him for all the work he was putting into my case and he responded "Bob you don't have to thank me I'm just doing the job you've paid me to do." That says a lot right there. I would highly recommend James to anyone in need of a diligent, competent attorney who truly cares about their legal issues.

After receiving a DWI at a checkpoint, I was beyond embarrassed and had no idea what the process would be moving forward. I contacted a friend, who is a lawyer, for advice and he immediately and specifically recommended James 'Jayme' Jackson as the 'go-to' lawyer for DWI. Great advice indeed. I met Jayme the next day. His calming presence, positive attitude, and professional nature were a blessing. First, he and his office assistant, Leigh Ann, assisted with the process of obtaining a temporary drivers license, starting the required alcohol and drug classes, and gathering all the information about my case. Over the next ~8 months, Jayme and I went to court about 3 times before finally setting a trial date. Of course I was anxious over the 8 months and studied my DWI case for any possible abnormalities that may allow me a lesser sentence in court. I honestly was not optimistic at all, as I did blow a .09. Jayme was very honest with his assessment of my case and never made unjust promises. At my trial, I was very nervous, as I had never experienced anything like that before. I had no idea what Jayme was going to do in court, but when he came in I was floored by his preparedness for my case. When I saw how thorough and prepared Jayme was, I knew that win, lose, or draw, I had made the best possible choice in selecting him as the lawyer for my DWI. During the trial Jayme came across as very professional, well versed in DWI law, respected by the judge, and eloquent in his delivery of information. And this may sound cheesy, but his closing argument was amazing. Before my verdict was read, I told Jayme that no matter the outcome I appreciated how well prepared he was and I was proud to have been represented by him. My outcome happened to be favorable, and I undoubtedly know that Jayme's deep knowledge of DWI law was the reason. In summary, Jayme's passion for his work can not be understated and I believe he will put full effort in each individual case. Highly recommended without a doubt.

I chose to hire James "Jayme" Jackson after seeing him interact with the judge on behalf of his clients. I watched several attorney's before deciding who I would retain for my defense. I wanted someone who had great rapport with the judge and the DA. As some of you may know, it is crucial to find an attorney who is liked, respected, and has good relationships with the various personal in the court system. These elements are important when bargaining and deals need to be made. After watching and speaking with multiple attorneys it was clear to me that James Jackson was the best man for the job....by a long shot. Upon our initial consultation I found Jayme to be extremely friendly, caring, and professional. He showed true sympathy for my situation while making me feel comfortable and relaxed in discussing the details of my case. His outlook was very positive but realistic. He didn't over promise on the possible outcomes yet remained optimistic. This was very important to me considering my previous attorney's were overly confident and underperformed. You will very quickly notice that Jayme is a man of integrity and truly has your best interests at heart. He was non-judgemental of my situation and I truly felt he was going to work his hardest for the best possible outcome. He very clearly laid out his strategy and what options were available, which was a very refreshing considering all the doubt and fear I had been feeling up to this point. Jayme even stated that he was willing to go to trial if needed which is something you rarely hear from criminal defense attorneys. Trial = More work. Plea bargains = quick buck for the attorney. After our consultation I felt confident and knew I was in good hands. Long story short. My court date was schedule the same day I met with Jayme. He let me know exactly what he was hoping to accomplish that day in court. I was expecting to have another court date scheduled only to find out that Jayme got the DA to dismiss my case! I was blown away! It was better then anything I could have expected at that point. Lastly, attorney's are notoriously expensive, this was not the case with Jayme. The price was more then fair, especially in comparison to what I have paid to my previous attorney's. I had no hesitations in paying his fee, especially after our consultation. I can't recommend Jayme enough. Although my experience with him was short and sweet, I am so impressed with him as a person and attorney. I only wish I would have found him sooner!
