I have hired several attorneys in my life and I found my experience with Mr. Husen to be the best yet. He consulted me on my case and after a long discussion, he presented an approach to my case that never occurred to me. I felt at our first meeting, he spent a good amount of time in hearing my problem. Other attorneys just want to get you to sign up immediately or get you out of the office. I never felt that way with Mr. Husen. He presented my case to the Riverside Superior Court and to my surprise and elation, the Judge hearing my case ruled in my favor! I was so please with his efficiency, attention and most of all, COST. He was very reasonable! I am going to recommend him to everyone I know.
I first met Mr. Husen 15 years ago when I went through my first divorce after a 14 year marriage with three children. That divorce was final after 6 months and 2 weeks. I was very pleased with Mr. Husen so I hired him again to represent me after a short 7 year, second marriage without children, in October. I found Mr. Husen and his assistant to be very knowledgeable, professional, attentive and effective. We are both conscious about time and money so I write down any questions I have before I call and he answers them expertly. We set up phone conferences to save time and money on traveling. When I have gone to his office I was helped efficiently and quickly. All papers were copied and returned neatly. When Mr. Husen represented me at court, I had fantasies of what I thought would be accomplished that day. He gently explained what actually was GOING to happen and calmed my nerves. I resolved to sit quietly and talk as little as possible. In front of the judge Mr. Husen was composed and showed righteous anger without becoming rude, red faced or pissing off the judge. The Judge listened to Mr. Husen and I could tell he respected Mr. Husen's professionalism. My only concern was one time I called Mr. Husen regarding some papers I had delivered. He stated they were on the coach somewhere and that he would get to it that weekend. It had been several weeks since I had delivered the papers. But sure enough, Mr. Husen followed through and completed the task and filed all paperwork expected. Mr. Husen is a wonderful Christian, counselor, friend and attorney.
Jim Husen handled an unusual family law case for me quite some time ago. This case drug out in court for nearly two years, during this time Mr. Husen provided legal representation that was above and beyond the call of duty. After almost two years of fighting in court he was able to bring my case to a close with a decision in my favor. Most Lawyers are more about the making the almighty dollar but Mr. Husen genuinely cared about me and my family and it showed throughout the entire process. If I had to do it all over again I’d hire him in a heartbeat.
This man is a liar and protects abusers. He does not look at evidence and believes hearsay. I have filed a complaint with the board of psychiatrist as well as three other individuals who he evaluated. If you had issues with this man file a complaint with the California board of psychiatrist. He should not be making recommendations for courts because he does not protect children. He protects abusers. Husen you should be ashamed of yourself and the recommendations you make. Quit before you put any more children in harms way!!!!!
Very rude attorney, he literally abandoned us right in the middle of the case I hired Jim when my (23 year old) daughter needed an attorney FAST. My daughter was in the beginning of a divorce, that included a one year old baby. Let me add; a divorce from a young man who feels like he can threaten, bully and control my daughter. All I wanted from this attorney was to take care of my kid. To guide and direct her to make good decisions. And I told him this. I said, "I want you to treat/advice her as if she was your own daughter". He never did. I was so dissatisfied from the beginning, but felt trapped because we had already paid him several thousand dollars. I felt there was no going back. At our last meeting with him in March, we had questions re: the final papers (that had yet to be submitted to the courts). He didn't have much to say and didn't really offer any good advice or direction other than "you already agreed to this and it can't be changed" (which I know to be not true). He even had the nerve to say to my daughter, "I can't micro-manage your life". What a jerk! We were so frustrated with the whole situation and my daughter left crying, not signing the papers. She needed an attorney who would fight wholeheartedly for her and her child. This attorney is mild mannered and definitely not the shark she needs. A couple weeks later, my daughter received papers in the mail that he had excused himself from her case. WHAT??? WOW! Thanks for taking my money (that takes me six months to make) and running. How does a human feel about themselves after that. For those who have been victimized by Jim Husen go file complaint with Bar Association and if no action is taken against him by the Bar then you can approach the Supreme Court , including a class action lawsuit.
Horrible attorney, he ruined me financially, his billing statements are completely unjustified. He lost my case and even forgot my case details that my child was born in Newyork.
Hired Jim to represent me for a divorce he was not forthright in matters and as a result added up a bill and never finished my divorce with him would never recommend anyone hiring him for anything unless to burn money
During my unusual child custody/paternity case he supported paternity fraud and perjury. He aproves of parental alienation and is against fathers rights. I would never reccomend him to anyone.
This attorney represented me in my divorce. During trial he did a great job but DIDN'T follow up by submitting a judgment to the court for what I won. As a result, the consecutive judge ignored the ruling and I lost everything. Talks the talk but doesn't follow through. He took all my money and dropped me when I could no longer afford him. Went pro-per afterward. When I first consulted with him, he promised the moon but didn't deliver! He didn't put together a game-plan and was reactive during the divorce, not proactive. When I knew something was going to happen, he would just say we had 30 days to respond. His office does not follow through with important things, he will suggest an expensive consultant to hire- for example, forensic accountants, cpa's, forensic computer experts, etc. Unnecessary when there's already plenty of evidence to work with. My files were also extremely unorganized when I got them- took me a month to get them in order. This attorney was so bad, I'm financially ruined between him and my ex husband. Because he was so negligent in not submitting the judgment to the court, the case dragged on and is now in it's 5th year with no end in sight.
My hiring of Jim Husen to represent me when my divorce attorney became ill turned out to be a big mistake. When it came time to negotiate a settlement, Mr. Husen "negotiated" by telling me what was fair regarding a particular issue, then proposing that to opposing counsel, who would say, No we won't agree to that. And he would say OK. The settlement document, which he wrote, was (according to other attorneys) poorly written. All I know is that when I fired him and hired another attorney, my new attorney had to clean up the mess, including filing a motion to address issues that were completely absent and unaddressed in the settlement. Even if these items are taken care of, the settlement was still very unfair to me, and I would NEVER recommend Mr. Husen to anyone.
