About
In 1989, I left a partnership in a medium-size firm to establish this firm, where one attorney is responsible for a matter from start to finish. Clients receive personal attention from me and my assistant. Having worked at a medium-size firm, I believe this provides superior service. This law firm utilizes up-to-date technologies in the service of our clients. Lawyers who prepare with the expectation that the case will settle put their clients at a disadvantage. Complete preparation assures the best presentation of the evidence at trial and increases the likelihood that the opposition will agree to a favorable settlement to avoid trial. It has become the standard of our practice to work hard and always be prepared.

Mr. Wing became my attorney after I had lost all hope of the judicial system ever being fair after a hostile divorce. Due to his hard work, dedication, professionalism and attention to even minute details, I have recently been given equal time with my two girls. I can now enjoy the day to day experiences that most dads take for granted. None of this would have been possible without Mr. Wing's expertise
Attorney Wing represented me in a Criminal Case that, as a Young Man, would have subjected me to a bad foothold for future endeavors. Attorney Wing worked with the Judiciary and with the Prosecution, and got my case dismissed- an outcome that would not would have happened without his hard work and persistence. His legal advice was spot on, and his follow through yielded results. I suggest Attorney Wing as a Defense Lawyer
Do not. I repeat do NOT settle for a subpar attorney when your reputation rests on another mans shoulders. This lawyer knows how the legal system works from a to z and if you are being falsely accused he will fight for you until the end. He worked tirelessly along with is assistant to get a false charge dismissed and was successful. Do not waste your time looking at reviews that say anything negative about this lawyer. He works extremely hard to uphold the the law and integrity of his clients it is on another level. Thanks jim and i appreciate your punctiality proffesionalism and attention to detail and payment flexibility.
Jim has been a great asset and a calming voice in an extremely difficult divorce case. We have been in and out of court for the past five years dealing with an ex that continues to attempt to modify rulings that have been positive on our end.
I was falsely accused of vandalizing someone's car and the plaintiff filed for a civil protection order. Jim did an absolutely fantastic job of proving my innocence. He is very articulate and respectful in the courtroom which I found very professional. He made sure that I was satisfied with his work as he makes sure that nothing was biased and unfavorable for me. Attorney Wing is absolutely fantastic! Thanks Jim!!
In Nov 2011, my ex-wife and I were divorced of which we had a baby together. The last 5 years involved petty behaviors, police involvement, an attempt to give up custody on two occasions and ultimately two false allegation claims of abuse. I will focus on the most recent incident of abuse allegations as this is where Attorney Wing assisted me. It began Jan 2015; my son was 5 years old. I had had our son for the holidays and per the parenting schedule was due to bring him home that Sunday evening, ready for bed. My ex-wife demanded that I bring him home early in the day so she could spend time with him and get him ready for bed. I opted to bring him home between 6 and 7. The next day, she withheld him from school but I was not aware of this yet. That Tues, I received a call from DCF saying that allegations of abuse were being made. DCF came to my home that evening. The allegations were so disturbing and outlandish (my ex-wife was accusing myself, my step-son who was 6 and my wife) that even DCF had a hard time believing them. Regardless, I was advised to leave my place of residence as I was not allowed to be near my step-son, who was 6 at the time. All visitation with my son ceased at that time. All of this was followed by a 6 hour interview with police, two restraining order hearings (ex-wife began sending disturbing text messages to myself and my wife & contacting family members to tell them about the alleged abuse), a forensic interview for both my son and step-son and a full DCF investigation. My son made allegations during the forensic interview (I was not present) however it was determined by all present he was coached. My step-son was also subject to the same interview of which it was determined no said abuse ever occurred. At this time, we had another attorney of which we determined that the severity of this case far exceeded her experience and reached out to Attorney Wing. At this time, DCF closed their case but my ex-wife told DCF she would still refuse to let me see our son. In turn, I made arrangements with the school to have lunch with our son once a week. We met with Attorney Wing about a week before having to attend court for a motion filed for the previous attorney for contempt (interfering with parenting time) and to modify custody. From the moment we met with Attorney Wing, he set forth realistic expectations regarding modifying custody. After our first court date with him, April 2015 (I had not seen my son for custody visits in 4 months), the judge ordered custody to resume, changing pick up times to be at the school to alleviate hostile exchanges as well as giving me an additional day during the week. The next day, my ex-wife withheld our son from school so I could not pick him up. Attorney Wing raced to meet me at the courthouse to file an ex-parte motion and while it was denied, this action represents the actions of Attorney Wing throughout the course of this case. He never stopped fighting for my son who experienced so much more than he should have had to endure during the course of this custody battle. Between attending court, communicating with my ex’s attorney and the GAL, filing motions and meeting with my wife and I, Jim Wing never stopped fighting for our family; most importantly my son. Attorney Wing’s familiarity with our case, knowledge of family law as well as his overall experience alleviated many incidents of concern and anxiety over the behavior of my ex-wife. Attorney Wing told us from the beginning that custody changes are incremental and the results of the trial was exactly that-I was awarded 54% custody and her 46% custody with me having final decision making authority (swap in the custody plan), which as a father I feel is a huge change in custody. The complexity of my case leads me to highly recommend Attorney Wing’s due to his handling of this case and overall success. I feel this strongly speaks to his integrity and skill as a family attorney and highly recommend him.
Jim Wing represented me regarding a custody case with my ex. We were not married however had a small child and assets together. Upon initial consultation, Jim set realistic expectations regarding custody, how it works in the state of CT and what to expect when we went to court. Jim’s experience and knowledge of family law and child support guidelines allowed what could have been a very expensive issue to be resolved as quickly as possible with the best result for all people, including our son, involved. His deep concern for children involved in custody matters, his report with other attorneys (in attending court, it was apparent the high regard other attorneys gave Jim Wing), as well as his compassion for the family unit as a whole, has resulted in us retaining Jim as our permanent family attorney. Jim Wing cares about his clients and finding the best resolution possible. I would highly recommend Jim Wing in any legal matter.
Jim was extremely knowledgeable and made time to speak with us to explain all the intricate issues. Jim gave us the information we needed and told us the step by step process. His assistant Jacki was kind, supportive and available to speak with each time I called.
Attorney Wing has handle several cases for me, starting as far back from 1989. It was a hit and run at a four way intersection. I was returning home after picking up my sister who was also in the vehicle at the time. Approximately 50 feet away from home, and just crossing the intersection...this young male driver was approaching the stop sign as I was crossing. Well he apparently did not understand that he was not on the main roadway and the big red sign with the words "STOP" was for him to obey which he did not. Needless to say I was t-boned. The hit was so hard, that my vehicle was thrown to the opposite side of the street, facing in the direction I was driving from. Long story short, my sister and I contacted the law office of James C. Wing, we met with him and discussed the case...he took the case, and won!!!! With my current case (child support)....same results... attorney James Wing Jr. is number one!!!! Pat
When a small mishap at a local bar turned into a stressful and expensive legal nightmare, I contacted Jim Wing for counsel. Having grown up in the Farmington Valley, I have many friends who recommended his services and spoke highly of the results he delivered. Throughout the entire process, Jim put my personal and financial interests first and always kept true to his word. Integrity like his is rare to find in an attorney. Because of Jim's diligent work, I have been able to move forward from this negative experience with a clean slate and begin a promising career. I give his services my highest recommendation. When you and your family are faced with a taxing legal dilemma, there is no price on peace of mind.
