I had an unusual discrimination case against a global corporation. After interviewing several firms, large and small, I chose Jim Thompson of Thompson Legal Center. My case started in 2010 with wrongful termination and ADA discrimination. After several years of going through the slow wheels of justice of the EEOC then again with The Department of Labor, I was finally given a Right to Sue. Though I was emotionally spent from the years of taking on big business and the government's slow process, I was not going to hand over five years of my work to any attorney for them to now mess it up. So I had to choose very carefully who would take this case to its final destination. That would prove to be Jim Thompson. Jim's thoroughness, attention to detail and personal interest in the case allowed me to finally take a backseat and allow someone else to carry the torch of truth. Even still, I am not a very trusting person and I questioned everything Jim did/said/wrote, etc., to the point of exhaustion; micromanaging. Eventually, I learned that Jim was as vested in this case as I and I could finally relax knowing that someone else had my back. Jim was patient and understanding. If I asked the same question five times, he answered it five times. He had answers before I asked the question. Jim was tough but fair. We all want the world, but what we want may not be in our best interest, Jim made me see that in this case. Jim does not sugar coat it. Win/lose/draw, Jim told it like it was whether it be good/bad/indifferent. Jim does not take a case to lose/draw so it's a win/win. 2016 is going to be a great year! All in all, if I had to do it all again there are a few things I would have done differently. I would have hired Jim sooner and I would have trusted him from the start. And for everything I have said here, it goes ten times for Mary Kay, Lauren and KC,... The backbone. You can not afford to choose the wrong attorney. Choose wisely.
