Mr. Schimanski gave me some intelligent, valuable advise regarding a pro se matter. He provided excellent service and advise.
Mr. Schimanski helped me with a Landlord problem. I had to break a lease 2 months early. It was a large fancy apartment complex. I was fine with paying the 2 months that I left early. But when I moved out, they were trying to charge me a ton of fees on top of the 2 months. It was around $2500 in addition to 2 months rent. It was ridiculous. The apartment complex immediately turned my information to a collection agency so I called Mr. Schimanski. Since the apartment company and collection agency didn't follow the law in collections. James made it so not only did I NOT have to pay a dime for anything, but they had to pay me $1000 for illegal collection practices plus they had to pay him my attorney fees. I guess they won't do that again.
He was very honest and straight forward with me. Took the time to answer all my questions and gave me an unbiased opionion and guidence. Was very pleased.
Extraordinary at thinking on his feet, and attending to ALL issues that can help. The other reviewer who said Jim was able to get unlawful evidence thrown out of court is spot on. Unfortunately, in the interest of serving the public good, government workers can make it seem that certain things have to happen when in fact they are not enforceable. Jim doesn't stand for that if involves his clients, in my experience. He is an amazing advocate. I highly recommend him.
I had a case a couple of years ago in Cincinnati, Ohio. After forking out over a few thousand dollars for one of the "high profile" lawyers who was suppose to be able to win just about any legal case, I realized after a few months into my case that my "high profile" lawyer was not doing nearly as much as he should be doing. I then began to try a different route which proved to be the correct route to take and it saved my skin. I heard about James R. Schimanski and although he is not as "high profile" as a lot of other lawyers, I heard he actually will try every possible route to help you win your case. He did just that! He used techniques to acquire information that was vital in helping me win my case. My past lawyer (that I fired) informed me on what all he could do to get information and help me win and none of the techniques that Mr. Schimanski used was mentioned by my past lawyer. I did not even have to go to trial b/c Mr. Schimanski was able get my evidence thrown out by proving the search was unlawful. A suppression of evidence hearing was not even an option for my "high profile" lawyer. I truly believe I would be sitting in jail as we speak away from my family b/c I was victim of an unlawful search and seizure. Save your money and hire the right lawyer the first time. Do not risk your freedom by choosing the wrong lawyer. This guy will help your case with maximum ability, knowledge of laws and perfect knowledge of the legal system.
This lawyer is highly knowledgeable and I would recommend him over any other lawyer. If you are looking to higher a lawyer, look no further! He is the man for the job!
I have used James Schimanski for 20 years for criminal, civil, business and personal matters. He is professional and would absolutely refer anyone to him.
Is a public pretender to, my son used him on felony charges and was all about let's make a deal not in his best interest, my son never even saw his discovery packet, no witness showed up,but wanted him to plea out, with not knowing what they had against him, turned down first deal, then took the second, which he regrets now, he just wanted out of Justice center, and James just didn't care about him, So let's make a deal any deal ; right because not getting the big money on his case
