Roger Rinehart has been a partner with the law firm of Rinehart, Rinehart & Rinehart, P.C. in El Reno, Oklahoma since August of 1989 and has served as the City Attorney for the City of El Reno since 2001 and for the City of Yukon since 2021. Prior to that, he served as a Law Clerk for Appellate Administrative Law Judges with the United States Department of Labor Benefits Review Board in Washington, D.C. for two years. After growing up in El Reno, Roger attended Oklahoma State University, where he earned a B.S. in English in 1983 and the University of Tulsa, where he earned a Juris Doctorate from the College of Law in 1987.Roger has been active in various community organizations and professional committees. Roger’s civic activities include membership in Leadership Oklahoma, (Class XXI), Leadership Canadian County, El Reno Rotary Club, El Reno Main Street, El Reno Chamber of Commerce, El Reno Trolley on Track committee, Preservation El Reno, Inc., El Reno Municipal Planning Commission, Redlands Community College Foundation, MidFirst Bank Statewide Advisory Board, Preservation Oklahoma, Inc. El Reno Mobile Meals, Historic Fort Reno, Inc.Professionally, Roger has served as president, vice-president, secretary, and Law Day Chairman of the Canadian County Bar Association. He was appointed as an Associate Bar Examiner by the Oklahoma Supreme Court in 1997 and as a Board Member of the Oklahoma Board of bar Examiners in 2012, and his appointment has been renewed annually since that time. Roger is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, Washington, D.C.; and United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.Recognition for his accomplishments include being selected as a recipient of the American Hometown Leaders Award sponsored by the National Association of Towns and Townships, receiving a Special Achievement Award from the United States Department of Labor, receiving a Citation of Merit from the Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office, the Sevenson Meritoreous Service Award by the El Reno Chamber of Commerce, being appointed as an “Oklahoma Ambassador” by Governor Henry Bellmon, and being selected as El Reno Main Street Board Member of the Year.
