Lee focuses on estate planning and administration, taxation, business planning and transactions. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, which recognizes individual attorneys for distinguished contributions to the practice of estate planning, probate and trust law.Lee is an adjunct professor at the Washington and Lee School of Law, where he teaches Wealth Transfer Planning. He has presented continuing legal education programs on numerous subjects, including ethics at the Annual Douglas W. Conner Advanced Estate Planning and Administration Seminar. Prior to joining Woods Rogers, he was president of Carter & Osborne, P.C.Lee is regularly cited for excellence in trusts and estate planning in leading lists such as Best Lawyers in America (since 1995), Super Lawyers and Virginia Living. He has been recognized as Lawyer of the Year in America’s Best Lawyers.He also has been selected as a Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation for 2013.Lee has a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and received his law degree and master’s of law and taxation degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary. He serves on numerous organizations, including the Roanoke Valley Estate Planning Council, Roanoke College Planned Giving Advisory Board, Ferrum College Estate Planning Council, Charitable Advisory Committee of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning of the Blue Ridge.
