I paid him a retainer to represent me for my protection from abuse and divorce situations. After he did terribly with the first, he claimed he needed more money to represent me for the divorce. Even though I had already paid him to do so. After the worst case scenario becoming a reality due to his incompetance, I did not want my divorce to be handled the same way. I cut my losses and hired a second lawyer. Do not hire Mr. Howaniec to represent you in any serious matter.

I used him for my divorce I paid a retainer my ex put a temporary restraining order on me to keep me out of my house we had a court hearing on the matter he didn't show up saying I didn't pay him for that or let him know I told him I talked to his secretary and told her about the court hearing coming up he said oh well that's not part of a divorce.then we went to mediation I was to meet with him at his office a half hour before the hearing t go over what I wanted friends of his showed up so we never got to talk about it got to mediation was left alone to argue with her lawyer

I had this guy as a public defender, he wanted me to take the plea, after I refused several offers, he comes back to tell me the state has no physical witness!!

Lousy representation and did NOT follow through with what he told me nor helped me in any way. Also could not explain anything about charges against me. I had never been arrested or in jail before. I am 67 years of age.
