I give Jim the highest rating. Jim is known in the area of bankruptcy and debtor law as possessing the highest level of expertise, experience and integrity in the Western District of North Carolina. He is well known and extremely well respected by the Trustees, the Bench and members of the bar. He knows this area of the law hands down and explains it with patience and a calmness and in English. He guides clients through the labyrinth of law with an excellent bedside manner that reduces the extreme levels of stress that come with this area of practice. I found myself in need of such services very unexpectedly several years ago. I know many people who practice law in the Charlotte area. Those who I respect the most directed me quite insistently to Jim. I am very glad they did. He possessed excellent grasp of the issues. He presented options outside of the legal process that were at least possible due to his standing within the community. Ultimately, we turned to the legal process. Jim guided me through it with deft, skill and patience. The final result was very fair, honest and far more beneficial to me than I had expected. Jim is a really good lawyer and a really good man. I would absolutely insist that anyone I knew who had to even consider going down this road go to Jim.
Mr. Henderson was a Godsend. We had a large independent retail family business for 30 years. The recession hit our line of business especially hard and had no choice but to close in August of 2014. We thought our one and only option was to file corporate bankruptcy. Essentially walking away from a large parcel of land with over 200,000 sq ft retail space. That was until we called the Henderson Law Firm. Mr. Henderson explained to us in words we could understand a step by step process by which we could possibly avoid bankruptcy. He also assured us that he would let us know if and when the time had arrived to file. Now over 1 year latter we still have not filed bankruptcy and have received a offer on our commercial property which would pay the mortgage and all trade debt in full and leave us some cash. My family and I will always owe a great deal of gratitude to Mr. Jim Henderson for helping us through this most difficult time in our lives. Thank You Jim !
His last review of May 2017 is very correct. He is an excellent attorney to make sure he gets paid. "I have to get paid even if you die" . Final outcome of my case was horrible and unfavorable. Our personal opinion after this experience, is that he is more concerned about himself and his colleagues. Avoid him by all means!!
I agree with the other client who previously stated that Mr. Henderson secretly converses with opposing counsel and talks negatively about his clients. He withholds all the information he obtains with his verbal agreements with opposing counsel. He then proceeds to bill $100 for every email response. I would not refer him to any friends, family or anyone. Maybe he's better in simple bankruptcies but he's definitely not an attorney for complicated cases.
I hired James Henderson to represent my small business company and managers in a bankruptcy case. First; he demanded $5,000.00 to get started. He did not filed schedules on time, failed to communicate around issue(s), made disparaging remarks about us to opposing counsels and failed to file timely response to court deadline and orders and caused an adverse outcome. He even stopped representing us and filed to withdraw. He never gave any accounting of the funds he received. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
