Jim Davidson has over 30 years experience litigating cases and resolving business disputes throughout the United States. Jim served as a prosecutor in Chicago, was in private practice with a large Chicago law firm for 14 years, and was a founding partner of a successful 22-lawyer firm. Davidson Mandell Menkes & Surdyk represented business, insurance, and entertainment industry clients in transactional, software licensing, and e-business matters, regulatory matters, and commercial, intellectual property, insurance, and employment litigation. Jim joined Ater Wynne after moving to Oregon in 2001. Jim concentrates in commercial, intellectual property, insurance, and employment litigation, and provides litigation avoidance and other business advice. He has represented insurance companies, including some of the world’s largest insurers, on a regional and national basis. Jim has represented businesses in contract, insurance, employment, and general business matters, mediation, arbitration, and commercial, employment, insurance, and intellectual property litigation. Jim has served as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy and evidence for Northwestern University School of Law, an adjunct professor of appellate advocacy for John Marshall Law School, an instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and a speaker on trial, evidence, and employment issues for various business and industry groups.
