About
I was born in Middletown, New York in 1975, but grew up in Salina, Kansas. After graduating from Salina High School South, I attended Kansas State University, earning both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree in Spanish. I graduated, with honors, from Washburn University School of Law in 2004. While in law school, I served as student editor-in-chief of the ABA's Family Law Quarterly and also served as law clerk to the judges of Shawnee County, Kansas. I also worked with other various state and federal court judges, including U.S. District Court Judge Julie A. Robinson and Justice Carol Beier (then a Kansas Court of Appeals Judge). Following graduation from law school, I served as a Staff Attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York City. My practice focuses on civil litigation, family law and bankruptcy and I practice actively in both federal and state courts. In my practice I have argued before the Kansas Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, prosecuted appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and presented at seminars regarding employment law. In my various cases I have helped define existing Kansas and federal law. Admitted to the Bar, 2005, Kansas Admitted to practice before US Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit; US Court of Federal Claims; US District Courts, District of Kansas and Western District of Missouri; and US Tax Court.
