My son was taken by cps at age 12 (2011). Plea bargained for a charge of showing himself to a minor. (His brother, age 8) No facts. Just lies made up by CPS. I, the mother, was not permitted to advocate for my son who is emotionally delayed. Fast forward 2016. My son has completed requirements of judge. Case was supposed to be closed with record and no requirement to register. The opposite happened. CPS insists my son did not complete requirements. Doctor tells the judge my son did. Now 19, (2018) this son still cannot see his brother, age 15. Locked up in KY under new unwarranted charges exacerbated by his open juvenile record. If he returns to AZ, home of his mother, he registers for life. The KY judge is keeping him locked up until age 21. A good lawyer would have strongly and loudly voiced such concerns in court, brought up lack of proof to accusations and followed it through. That didn't happen in KY either. Is that the new norm? Presently, Jack Is handling a case for a close friend that should not have had her son taken. She is being charged with kidnapping him. I know she did not. Jack has had her case 3 months. He managed to get her a much needed trial. But, she will not be permitted to have witnesses on her behalf because they were not requested by Jack on time. It really is a corrupt court system. Not always Jack? Do know I have not seen him speak up enough. Families he represents are suffering.
