We retained Attorney Cruz after my original attorney decided to withdraw from representing me on a drug possession case...just two weeks before a scheduled bench trial. It has been a long 10 months of pretrial conferences, asking the prosecutor for dismissal of charges and continuances requested by my co-defendant's lawyer who was trying to obtain phone evidences and etc for his client. With two weeks to go, he agreed to meet with me to listen to my case. And after he read the probable cause affidavit that I showed him, Attorney Cruz immediately said, without hesitation, that he will argue for suppression of evidence after he read that the arresting officer may have mistakenly stopped the vehicle we were on while crossing the intersection on a yellow light which is not a traffic violation in the State of Indiana. That is exactly what happened in court! The prosecutor dismissed the charges for both myself and my co-defendant. That just means that my case could have been dismissed 10 months earlier if either my original lawyer or my co-defendant's lawyer had asked for a suppression of evidence hearing. I am impressed by his candor from the get go, his wit, quick thinking capability and he even took the time to rehearsed a mock trial prior to trial date ...all in a short notice. My only reservation from giving him a perfect score is that it takes him a while to return a call because of his busy high profile criminal defense practice. I highly recommend Attorney Cruz for your criminal defense cases if you ever need one.
