Ms. Perkins is a trial lawyer with an emphasis in labor and employment law and general civil litigation. She advocates for large and small employers before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, defending allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, and discrimination claims.  She also aids employers pursuing former employees for violations of non-compete agreements and misappropriation of trade secrets.  Additionally, Ms. Perkins has counseled and assisted clients in drafting, reviewing and updating employee handbooks, procedures and policies as needed. Admitted: Ms. Perkins is admitted to practice in Kansas state and federal courts, Missouri state courts, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Education: Ms. Perkins received her juris doctorate in 2008 from the University of Kansas School of Law. While attending law school she participated in a Judicial Externship with The Honorable John Lungstrum of the U.S. District Court, District of Kansas. Ms. Perkins also received the CALI Excellence For The Future Award for Legal Research and Writing. Ms. Perkins received her B.S. in Finance from the University of Connecticut in 1996. Membership: Ms. Perkins is a member of the Douglas County Bar Association. Community Involvement: Ms. Perkins is a member of the Board of Directors of the Shelter, Inc. in Lawrence, Kansas and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Lawrence Humane Society.
