Attorney Stanley handled a custody/visitation matter for our family. Ms. Stanley kept us informed of our matter, was very knowledgeable in the law, worked well with opposing counsel and minor's counsel, charged fair fees, and obtained a favorable result for our family. I highly recommend Ms. Stanley for custody and visitation matters.

Mrs Stanley is a criminal. She is indicted for stealing around 3.9 million dollars from her clients over a decade plus. She will be going to prison for a while. Heather was my ex-husband's lawyer in our divorce dissolution. I believe she bribed some of the judges. She made up non-truth's about my situation. She had me served illegally in Canada. It's unfortunately a long story of dealing with this horrible woman. I'm glad karma caught her and she'll finally pay for the suffering she caused so many over her career. If she is working in TN just know she was disbarred in 2018 in Bakersfield California. Avoid this woman she is evil.

She would tell me what I wanted to hear and when we would go to court she would change it or say she never said that. She promised me the moon and I got moon dust. I know being a attorney is a business, and she is all about business, her business. I felt like she was not on my side. When you are paying you at least need a attorney that is on your side. It started out that way, but the end result is she did not have my best interest or my back. unfortunately Divorce and family law is a war, and you need someone who has your back.

She is not knowledgeable about the law. I had to constantly track what was happening with my divorce through the Kern County's website and ask them about the law. When papers were returned to her due to her error, she tried to bill me for those. Good luck trying to get a phone call back from her as well. She does not return phone calls. In addition, her front receptionist is horrible. I feel I could have handled my divorce on my own, with no legal background, better. Save yourself headache and money. Go with someone else - Even if they cost more initially - it will save you money in the long run. She charges for bogus, fictitious things. If there was an option for zero stars, I would have chosen it.

I hired Heather exclusively for a meeting that lasted 20 minutes. As requested by Heather, I paid her $145 which is worth 1 hour of her time - not 20 minutes. In an email from Heather, she admits to the breakdown in communication between her front end staff and her clients. Despite this, Heather issued a fictitious bill for $120 to cover her assistant's time to prepare the bill...what?! As a paralegal, I can attest that there are better lawyers out there. I would NOT recommend Heather Stanley for 3 main reasons - 1. Heather is not trustworthy; she goes back on her word (conveniently around the time of her law firm's billing cycle). 2. Heather's lack of experience with family law in court situations is evident. For us, luckily it occurred the first time we met her when she did not know the proper time for service on a basic Order to Show Cause. 3. The firm's front end staff, namely Tawnya, is very rude, inefficient and not able to properly conduct themselves in a professional manner. I would not trust this firm to handle any legal matter, let alone a highly sensitive family law file.

Mrs. Stanley did a good job at helping me to act quickly to receive Spousal Support, but soon after receiving an award for $$'s from my Ex-Spouse her attention, dedication and trust failed miserably. Not only did she not inform me a court appearence had been cancelled, she actually charged me for going to it, even though she knew it had been cancelled. She also would not refund ofthousands of dollars she held in acct. for me after I confronted her with the facts and evidence, of the cancelled court date that she had known about. I did eventually get 400.00 refunded after she charged me for the cancelled date, but no other refund has been forthcoming despite several requests. I will be requesting an Arbitration Hearing to see if I can get a refund and report this and other issues.

Ms. Stanley's first impression as a divorce lawyer was good. But as the case wore on and became more contentious, she was harder to contact and more willing to settle for less. It seemed she wanted to avoid court at all costs. She eventually recused herself after hiring opposing counsel's paralegal.
