Heather is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to family law and what's best for kids in divorce situations. She's also hilarious, and really humane and fair, which was so appreciated during this difficult time. Of course, she was on my side, but I was grateful that she didn't work in an antagonistic way towards the other side, but rather kept her counsel balanced and thoughtful. Highly recommend her!
I highly endorse Ms. Heather Bendure from the Grosse Pointe Law Center. I hired her to handle my divorce and she did an outstanding job and I was extremely happy with the outcome of my divorce judgement. She is professional, very prompt, very well organized, always planning months in advance, she knows family law very well, and most importantly, was respected and listened to by the judge. She provided me with the law and expectations, and made recommendations but allowed me to make the final decision. I learned very quickly to go with her recommendations because they were always right. When Ms. Bendure spoke in court, she was well prepared and her arguments were logical, succinct, and relevant. On a couple of occasions the judge asked her to clarify what the opposing counsel was trying to say. The judge obviously was impressed with her arguments. I’ve been told that most divorces are solved in negotiations or mediation. Unfortunately, we ended up going to trial because my offers for settlement were dismissed by my ex and her offers were outrageous. My ex stopped negotiating at mediation which frustrated myself, my attorney and the mediator. Ms. Bendure was very organized and prepared for trial. She did a very thorough job at deposition, worked on a list of questions she was going to ask at trial, worked on a list of questions for me, coached me on how to answer questions, and provided me with additional information so that I was prepared for my time on the witness stand. To opposing counsel, she was friendly and courteous. To the judge, she was respectful, professional, well versed in family law and very well prepared. To me she was my champion. When it came to talking to my ex at deposition and trial, Ms. Bendure was very tough and was quick to jump on anything that helped my case. She didn’t accept any BS from my ex. Ms. Bendure gave me advice that I would like to share (I’m paraphrasing): (1) divorce is a marathon and not a sprint, (2) let me do my job, (3) don’t try to do my job (4) don’t respond to the ex’s statements, we’re going to court for a specific reason and that’s all we need to focus on, (5) do everything above board – we don’t ever want the judge to question what we’re doing, (6) at trial only respond to the question and answer with yes or no if possible, (7) I’ll be doing most if not all of the talking with the judge, and (8) relax I have it covered. I would also like to acknowledge the work that her assistant Amy did. She did a lot of the background research and provided very constructive and helpful suggestions when we prepared for trial. She really helped in the positive outcome of my divorce. My divorce is finally over but I have been seeking Ms. Bendure’s advice on business contracts. I totally respect all of her professional skills and I highly endorse her and the Grosse Pointe Law Center.
Extremely honest straight forward attorney. So glad she was recommended to me. Heather explains the pros and cons of everything and is extremely detailed. Always made herself available for questions and concerns.
Mrs. Bendure is the best lawyer that I could find for my divorce. She was very supportive in so many ways and I’m so grateful that I could find her. My divorce was so hard for me and having her by my side was a blessing. She was always accessible to answer all of my questions promptly and very fast in my process. I don’t think works can express my gratitude. Thanks Mrs. Bendure.
Heather will listen to you completely, read through everything you have and will not waste time on pointless arguments or tirades from opposing counsel. Having come in my case 7 years after it started with my ex-wife, she has done well in helping me fight the nonsense the other side keeps throwing at us. I would recommend her as she does her homework, she listens and she doesn't just act like a know it all attorney, but incorporates what you want in motions and issues when they make sense.
I hired Heather a few months ago and couldn't be any happier with my decision. She was very thorough while being thoughtful. I felt she was very down to earth and easy to talk to about any concerns that I had. She was always accessible to answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for an honest and caring attorney.
Heather was very helpful, kind and understanding of my difficult situation. I would not hesitate to recommend her to any of my friends or family.
My only regret is that I found Heather too late. I consulted and hired her over a period of several years when dealing with a custody matter. She is an expert in Wayne County family court and the mediators that the Wayne county judges utilize. The thought of the court making final decisions about our children makes my heart sink and Heather was able to guide us through so extremely muddy waters. I recommend her to everyone that is looking for a lawyer for divorce and family matters.
Heather is a modern, connected attorney - remarkably available via email during non-working hours, personable, and a clear and direct communicator. It was easy to feel comfortable working with her during a rather uncomfortable process. She made it possible for me to make informed decisions that were the best for me, at each step. She both catalyzed the steps in the process and timed them in a way that was tailored to what I needed. From working with her, I was able to extract myself emotionally from the relationship more quickly. Right at the start, she helped me see that there would be an end to the process; she encapsulated what felt big and chaotic and unending into a short set of steps, each of which was doable. Because she took on all the work of making each next step happen, I could disentangle that process from the process of emotionally detaching, which made the latter much more manageable. Highly recommended!
During my first meeting with Ms. Bendure I felt comfortable and in good hands. I felt that she always had my best interest at heart and worked diligently to obtain the results that were best for me and my daughter. My telephone calls and emails were answered in a timely matter. Ms. Bendure provided me with all the options to make an informed decision during my entire divorce process. My divorce provided some unique circumstances in which Ms. Bendure researched and provided the best possible results.
