About
I have just returned to Clark County from Eastern Washington where I spent the last ten years managing a very successful multi-attorney, mult-state practice. With undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology I love working with people and empowering them to create solutions for themselves. The two most important qualities in my life are my integrity and my honesty. I am a bit of a white knight and my hobbies reflect that. I have studied multiple martial arts for years, taught fencing in college and participated in tournaments with swords. I have taught self defense courses. Most people find me incredibly approachable, very strategic and a man of my word.Currently I am focusing on family law and looking forward to contributing to the legal community here.

After experiencing a couple other attorneys in town for my custody proceeding, I ended up at Ashby Law with attorney Glenn Slate. It was a breathe of fresh air to have someone take over my case who is knowledgeable and understanding with an absolutely competent staff that is always right there and ready to help.
I used Mr. Slate for my divorce/custody and I was extremely happy with him. He was really accessible, returned my calls, and made me feel like my issue was important to him. Even his staff knew who I was, and treated me with care and respect. I felt like I got the best results I could by using him. I'd recommend him to anyone.
I had some serious difficulties with another firm and went to see Glenn for a consultation . He offered me some reassurance and encouraged me to finish my case with the firm I already hired and paid. He told me that if I still felt unsatisfied that he would be happy to take on my case, but that he didn't want me to waste money unnecessarily. He spent the remainder of the hour talking to me and explained how the legal system worked and by the end of our meeting I felt like a weight was lifted from my shoulders. This was not my only consultation with Glenn, I met him on another occasion and again he offered me sound advice that would save me time and money when I wanted some documents modified. He really is an honorable and honest guy. For any legal matters, I will only be going to him and his firm from here on out.
Dealing with divorce from an emotional and business perspective is difficult! From my initial consultation with Glen then working through the details with Georgia and Joshua, I felt I had a responsive team providing efficient, practical, and fair advice that made for an efficient divorce process. My ex-wife ended up filing jointly through Heritage because her attorney was not as responsive. Professional, moral, knowledgable, and efficient. I liked that if one was busy or in court, another team member was available and knew about my case. Doing most the work with Joshua also saved on the overall costs. I felt the billing and time spent was open, honest, and transparent in how they reported/charged their time, and invoiced it back to the retainer. We completed the Divorce process, including supported my Ex as needed, all under the initial retainer budget. The team was understanding and compassionate about the tough time we faced through my divorce...tactfully professional.
Glenn and team worked tirelessly and with great patience to handle my divorce case. I really appreciated the caring and positive attitudes in light of the situation. They added a very human touch at a time when I needed it a lot. It's hard to find integrity and trust in today's world, but Glenn and heritage family law proved it still exists in spades.
I had a custody matter started a little over 2 years ago where my wife and I were fighting to keep our child. We were proven fit over and over by the courts and several other sources, but because we were unable to get a lawyer, we were forced to take this matter up pro se for over a year. When we were finally able to afford a consult, we first checked reviews and liked what we saw with Glenn and his firm. We met, and were impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of the staff, and upon saving enough for the retainer we immediately hired Glenn's firm. Our lawyer Brandy was great, she listened, gave great advice, and was aggressive in going after our interests. Our paralegal Denora was always quick to respond and provide information. We went from fighting alone and getting nothing accomplished, to getting the matter moving along. We were unsuccessful in getting the case thrown our of court due to lack of evidence against us and nothing being entered into the courts in well over a year from the time we were able to hire Brandy, but with the pressure and assertiveness Brandy gave the petitioners and theirnattorney, we were finally able to end this matter outside of court in a civil manner where all parties involved could claim a win. Hiring this firm was very expensive for a lower income family like mine, in part due to the fact this type of matter was unprecedented in the state of Washington and required a lot of research, but it was worth the cost to have top tier representation in court. This firm was willing to work with us on a payment plan that could work within our budget (not an easy task), and when issues came up where we couldn't make a payment, they were more than accommodating. For anyone seeking a family law lawyer who is knowledgable, assertive, and accommodating, I would without question or hesitation recommend Glenn and his firm. I hope to never have need of a family law attorney again, but if I do, I will be seeking to hire Glenn or Brandy again.
The worst thing I ever did for my case was was going to another attorney. This being my first divorce worrying about custody, finances, maintaining somewhat of a normal lifestyle was too much for me to bare. i hired another attorney thinking it would ease my mind to better fit in my schedule, but all i did was spend more money with 0 results. He was always engaged in our meetings and honestly gave me the feeling that he and his staff actually cared about my children, my well being and my case. Again ,,, nothing but high praise for this attorney and staffing. I made a mistake and hope that others will not follow my steps... Thanks Glenn
I had to retain Glenn at the last minute of a complicated divorce. Glenn was very upbeat and proactive to help get me a good resolution to my case. Glenn and Georgia Petrie did a great job in representing me and I would highly recommend them!
Trusting an attorney is one of the most difficult choices one can make. I hired Heritage Law to be a safety net for a difficult family situation. After meetings with Glen and other staff members I felt secure in their abilities to perform for me. Time moved on and thinking I was done I contacted the firm and spoke with Brandy Jeffers who after months had been assigned to me. Suddenly things exploded. I contacted Brandy who made calls. She gave me a complete description on what to expect to happen if things went bad. a month after that conversation, Things went bad, We had to make emergency calls to Heritage Law. They responded and took action. Brandy Jeffers showed up to court to help my family, she kept my family well informed through the process. With her sheer professionalism that I have not seen in many attorneys before, she was able to work the justice system in our favor and set the playing field for our next round. Tough and straight forward this group will work for you. Thanks Heritage Law.
Glenn was very informative on what my best option is. Rather than scheduling me to come in(like all the others), charge me an arm & leg, just to say I need to hire help in the state my son lives in. He gave me his advice for free within 24 hours of my email I sent.
