About

Paul J. Whiting III grew up in Wixom, Michigan, and was a standout student-athlete at Walled Lake Western High School. Upon graduating in 1995 near the top of his class, he attended Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan, on academic and basketball scholarships. He transferred to the University of Detroit to complete his bachelor’s degree and played basketball for the Titans during their 1999 season, which culminated in the league championship and an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. With another year of eligibility and several invitations to play basketball overseas, Paul made what he describes as “one of the toughest, but best decisions ever he ever made” by forgoing his basketball career to become a lawyer. In 1999, he passed up his final year of eligibility to enter Wayne State University Law School.Paul earned his Juris Doctor in May 2002, and by July of that year accepted a position at Lipton Law. Paul’s fierce, competitive spirit on the basketball court carried over to his legal career. It’s that same spirit that drew Lipton Law and Paul together.  In 2011, Paul formed his own law firm, Whiting Law, where he continues to fight for the rights of injured individuals in Michigan.Recognized as an expert in Michigan No-Fault Law by his peers, Paul frequently lectures on this and many other topics, including business practices for lawyers. His areas of specialty include automobile accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, dog bites, premise cases and medical malpractice. Paul also sits as an arbitrator on other attorneys’ cases.Paul is an Executive Board Member of the Michigan Association of Justice (formerly the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association), a Member of the American Association of Justice (formerly the American Trial Lawyers Association) and the Michigan State Delegate to the American Association of Justice. Paul has also been recognized as a “Rising Star” by “Michigan Super Lawyers” for several years.

To Whiting Law and my attorney, I would like to thank you for taking my case and being very professional and very patience and gave me all the help and information about my claim. I was in doubt when you told me that within 3-6 months that I will get my disability. Well I was wrong - it did resulted in 3 months~ - I would gladly recommend you to the people or persons that are in the same situation as I am and would tell them to have all papers and documents ready to get a great result. Thank you for your time and kind regards!

My experience with Whiting Law was very positive! I felt very prepared for my case and now I am getting my benefits. It could not have come at a better time. We were at the point of not being able to pay for medications. The stress is finally lifted and I am so grateful!

My lawyer was very helpful, explained all the paperwork I had to submit and if I had questions would take care of them too. The office was always very pleasant Om the phone when I called. So thank you a million times over for your help!

Mr. Whiting and his firm were fantastic in helping my family when we need help dealing with our insurance company. His team of paralegals put our minds at ease by handling all the issues raised by the adjuster. Then when the insurance company didn't pay Mr. Whiting handled the law suit personally. We couldn't have been more happy with Mr. Whiting and his firm! I'd recommend them to friends and family.

This office had my case for over a year and a half. They did not file my case in court within the time limit, which is a year for PIP benefits. This has set me back financially really bad. I have not returned back to work. With this type of over looked or unprofessionalism deed will cost me in the long run. This means no lost wages, no doctor's who treated me will be paid, no medical expense being paid, no replacement cost being paid to the people who helped me, no mileage for all that traveling time. All for a simple $235.00 fee for filing with the court in a timely matter. This should be the first thing an attorney's office should do. Also, I kept in contact with the paralegal that was on my case, ( I liked her) but no knowledge about claims statutory NOTHING! you see, I am informing now what happened. I know things happens and I wasn't going to post, but when I see another customer with similarities, I thought you know.. people need to know. Now I am stuck with paying those bills mentioned and money lost for gas etc. Wait! every time I did call the paralegal she would say it's the insurance company taking so long. while all the time Paul Whiting's office had not filed my case in court. Then when I received my records thank GOD! I got them when I did, I see where the insurance company corresponded to this attorney's office about what they were going to do with my case. UH.... shouldn't the attorney's office be asking the insurance company THIS?? I'm just saying..

Very Very Unprofessional! This Firm should be closed down for business. My Paralegal never returned my phone calls and when she did she was very disrespectful and short with me. I have had at least 4 different paralegals on my file in 2 years so I guess they didn't want to stay with this firm either. I tried to complain to Mr. Whiting but he never returned my voicemails. Not only did they not keep me informed about my case they left me with medical bills that were not paid by my insurance company because they missed my statue of limitations. Now Im stuck with bad credit, bad injuries, and no money since they settled out for pennies on a dollar and all of my future medical coverage. I would not recommend this firm to represent a rat in cheese court!

Told me what I wanted to hear then didn't even bother keeping me informed and him and his staff wouldn't take my calls or call me back because I didn't have a multi million case I guess! Don't have a problem taking his share of my monthly checks though - that's when I did get them on time. Like I said all talk to get you in the door. I probably could have done the job myself but made it sound like I had to have a lawyer do the work for me.
