I can't say much for the PD case reviews, but as a family law attorney Genelle is exceptional. Her knowledge of parental rights and custody are on point. She will not blindly take her clients side as other attornies do (and waste your money and motions), and provides her client "the whole picture" of possibilities and options. She is reasonable, fair, and always has gotten back to me about my questions. We won our child custody case, had child support adjusted, and have all of our co-parenting issues nearly ironed out. If you have any cases regarding your child, Genelle is the one to go to. She fights for whats in the child's best interest.

Genelle was rude, short tempered, and unprofessional. She communicated with me very poorly. I only had three actual phone calls with her, and one one of those was to discuss her fee. She describes herself as a pit bull, and she was- to me! I would definitely not recommend this pit bull, unless you want to get bitten! Thankfully, my case ended satisfactorily, but it was more in spite of Genelle, and not because of her!

She represented me in my divorse and it was horrible how she was more concerned about what was going on in her own life than what my future was going to be and how unprofessional she handled herself. Do not hire her for anything!

She was elected to represent me on a criminal case. I wrote multiple letters. No response. I called many times. No response. Every Court date I had. She didn't show up. I highly suggest selling representation from someone who applys effort

I had hired her due to the PD office as well and was sorely disappointed. How can you defend a person you do not interview or work with in any way? No correspondence, no phone calls returned, I was clueless as to what was happening in my case. No trial preparation was ever made and did not ask me for witnesses, just merely plead out a case that may have been winnable at trial. I was the one to point out several errors the Prosecutor had made even with my limited knowledge of law. Nice lady, just not sure she is in the right profession.

She was my lawyer (thanx to the public defenders office) for 2.5 months and in that whole time she wouldn't return my 5 phone calls, nor the attempt to get ahold of her by her boss. She meets me for the FIRST time 2 minutes before my pretrial hearing and the first thing out of her mouth is "plea". Not at one time in 2.5 months did she try to reach me and discuss my case. I tell her no we're going to trial. SHE says "I don't want a trial, you'll have to get another lawyer". WTF?! Then her and the prosecutor (who looked disappointed I wouldn't plea) have a little tet to tet on the side and boy if they didn't look like GOOD FRIENDS. I think she had another case in the works she was willing to throw me under the bus for, that's my opinion. I told her she SHOULD be a prosecutor if she's gonna plea on a simple case that will be won in a trial. She's no defense attorney by any stretch of the imagination. i feel sorry for her present and future clients because I don't think they know what a lousy attorney she is.

Genelle Johnson would be better off as practicing as a prosecutor than a criminal defense attorney. She was appointed for me by the State Public Defender’s Office to handle an appeal on my behalf. She did not keep me updated, did not listen to my suggestions and refused to fight for me. In fact, she refused to raise the issues I requested in the court of appeals. Guess what? The court of appeals said she was wrong; not once, but twice. The court of appeals shot the appeal back to her because she erred. What did she do the second time around? The same thing! The court of appeals shot it back, again. I got rid of her at that point. She does not understand a lawyer is an advocate and is supposed to operate in her clients’ best interest. She just doesn’t get it. Don’t waste your time. She is incompetent. Hire someone else. She will get you no where in the court room. Her legal skills are neither respected nor feared in the local legal community.
