They say you meet some of the best people, during some of the most difficult times. And that was the case with meeting Gary and Laura. I didn't want to retain an attorney at first, but my ex decided to get one on her own. So I went with Gary's firm and immediately felt like the world was lifted off my shoulders. Gary sat and listened to me patiently, offered great advice throughout, and made an otherwise stressful event, go very smooth. Laura was very instrumental in providing timely feedback, answering questions I had in a thorough manner, and virtually taking care of everything I would never know how to do. Gary is very reasonable with his pricing, and for the amount of help, knowledge, and money he saved me in the settlement, it was worth every penny. Although I hope I never have to retain an attorney again, if I do, I am definitely calling Gary Dubrovsky. Thank you so much for helping me during one of the most draining experiences of my life and helping me spring forward to my new life!!
Mr. Dubrovsky was marginally competent in the affairs he handled for me. Several problems existed that caused me to give him a poor rating. He nickle and dimes his clients excessively. Even form letters that require that he add only a signature and date are charged at the full rate, and they appear to be endless in number. His office is extremely unresponsive; calls and emails to him and his staff sit unanswered for weeks at a time, and then he gets angry when one calls him on it. Even emergencies are ignored. He wrote a declaration for me that was ill conceived and would have been quite damaging to my case; when I told him to toss it and replace it with a very short and less inflammatory text, he of course charged me the full amount for the initial declaration, amounting to about $600, even though is was against my wishes that I made clear from the start. He charges for travel time even when he has to make the trip to his office anyway. He can be an alarmist and insulting; in my case, his premonitions did not materialize in court and constituted another instance of 1 1/2 hours of wasted and expensive time. Most unbearable, he likes to talk at length about his personal life and other clients' cases, all the time racking up charges. When one questions any of this, he becomes irrate and issues threats that he conveniently vails as simply legal ramifications.
