I've observed numerous attorneys in the Lamoroux Justice Center over the past several years as a litigant. I recently had the good fortunate to observe Mr. Levinson argue a motion before a Judge. He was prepared, honest, fair, and extremely logical. His opposition, appeared to be a fairly experienced attorney, miss-quoted cases, misstated the law, and could not articulate a sound argument. I don't think it was an easy decision for the Judge to make -- but in the end the Judge granted his motion based on his well reasoned argument and the law. Attorney Levinson was completely professional throughout the proceeding and deserves high marks for his work.

You won't find a better more caring lawyer then Gary Levinson. If you are getting a divorce and want the best...but don't have to pay outrageous rates...call Gary. Some lawyers talk the talk...but don't walk the walk. He is excellent in the courtroom and great at negotiating!

I just came across these reviews as I used Gary Levinson in 1999 for my divorce. I so wish reviews were around so all these people who had to use him in 2017 would have chosen another attorney. Gary Levinson claims that my divorce proceedings were the worst he ever dealt with as I was getting upset that he was giving my life, my assets and more away and not negotiating. I found out many things as I did consult with another established Newport Beach attorney who explained to me Gary Levinson's faults. Years have past but what he cost me was severe. He was referred to me by Laura's House as I needed counseling there. I agree with Jana G. wishing there was a "minus 5" - how about a "minus 10". Worst, unethical, dishonest, deceitful, rude attorney ever! He's never changed!!!!

When I first came to Mr. Levinson, he seemed professional and his rates appeared reasonable. However, it was long before I found out different. First off, Mr. Levinson does not have a paralegal to do the paperwork, which means he prepares it himself and charges $300 per hour; three times the cost of a paralegal. Next he puts very little effort into the work he prepares. For example, when preparing my response to the divorce petition, it was very fragmented, had no clear direction, and did not address the issues in a concise and easily understandable manner. It was full of errors. I ended up re-writing it myself. I often had to leave 3 or 4 messages before I would get a response from Mr. Levinson, and even when I did, his responses would only address one of three or four questions I had. Even more telling was when he notified me I had a court date in the Downey court. When I showed up, I could not find the room I was suppose to be in. I was told by one of the court workers that the room number did not exist and that family court was in Norwalk. When I told Mr. Levinson that he sent me to the wrong court house, his response was to laugh and say that to him Norwalk and Downey are one in the same, even thought they 30 minutes from each other! He then told me not to worry because he was going to ask for a continuance due to the fact that he had to be in court later that day in Orange County, and that he was sure the judge would grant it. However, not only did the judge go ahead with proceeding that day, I did not get to present my side since my attorney "had other obligations" that same day. This resulted in the judge awarding my ex over $6,000 per month in temporary support! Do yourself a favour and hire a competent attorney with staff that can handle the paperwork, know where to show up for court and has other attorneys that can fill in, if need be. This will save you money in the long run.

Gary simply seemed to have given up on my case after talking me into paying my ex ovet 20k to get any visitation with my kids. Then when my ex illegally moved my kids out of state not only did he refuse bring this to the courts attention he actually ran into my ex's lawyer at court for another client and agreed that I should have to drive several states away eachtime I get to see my children and that I should be responsible for the cost of all of the travel expenses all of this was agreed upon by them without even talking to me

Gary Paul Levinson gives good attorneys a bad name. He represented me against my X husband. He never returned phone calls, kept me updated or wrote me simple emails to let me know the progress of the case. He never did what he said he was going to go, which therefore led me to fire him. When I told him I was "subbing" out, he did not apologize or ask why. All this guy cares about is getting paid. He is not compassionate on any level and has to be one of the greediest attorneys I have ever met. He did not even remember my childs name after almost 6 months of being repped by him. I guess I should have followed my instinct and known by the law school he went to that he was I was getting a shrew of an attorney
