They Helped with an uncontested Divorce. Fast, efficient, affordable, and explained the whole process so I knew what to expect. I highly recommend to anyone who is unsure of selecting an Attorney. No games or hidden fees. Very straightforward. They really saved me time, energy and money! Thanks y'all!
I had the pleasure of working with Robert during a very tumultuous time in my life. I found him through a search after my previous lawyer failed to keep in touch and failed to return my retainer fee. He advised me on what to do with her (Erica May Lotz- don't use her) and I hired him immediately. Robert was professional and helpful. On things I didn't understand, he explained. He made the process quick and as un-painful as a divorce could be. He was patient and understanding of all my questions and reservations.
Mr Weimer helped me obtain rights to my son. He took the time on a Saturday afternoon to meet with me for a free consultation as I was coming from out of state. He walked me through every step we needed to take, and promptly followed through. All in all he went above and beyond, and I wont use another attorney in LA as long as he is practicing.
Excellent law firm. They have a real person answering the phone. Emails and questions were answered promptly. Everything that they said they would do...they did. Highly recommend.
Mr. Weimer did a fantastic job representing me for my divorce proceedings which involved issues of child custody and support. I consulted with him on a Monday afternoon, officially accepted his representation on Tuesday and the divorce petition was filed by Thursday. He was very efficient, straightforward, made sure I understood the entire process before we proceeded with filing and always sought my opinion on drafts before anything was filed with the court. In all aspects, the outcome was very favorable for me. I would highly recommend Mr. Weimer.
Mr. Weimer was extremely helpful, patient and knowledgeable. I consulted with him a few times before hiring him. I live out of state and needed the succession process to go quickly. He was able to accommodate me and wrapped everything up in a reasonable amount of time. I would recommend him.
Robert Weimer represented me in the property settlement case after my divorce. Initially, I contacted the other partner in his firm. Upon arriving for my meeting, I was told I would be meeting with Robert Weimer instead; his rate was cheaper. The firm advertised family practice/divorce as a specialty. I presented my facts to Robert Weimer, including that I had received a settlement from a personal injury lawsuit a month before I filed for divorce. I was concerned that it would become a part of the community property. He told me it probably wouldn’t. He said all I needed was a written stmt from the personal injury atty asserting the settlement was not a part of the community. I hand-delivered the statement to him. I also presented a disc that contained “ALL” asset/liability data (3 years of data) from myself and my ex-spouse along with the court documents that had already been filed by the attorney that handled the divorce. He and no one else in his office ever reviewed/used the disc. Robert Weimer told me that my case was not complex. He said he would pursue reimbursement of my expenses from the date of divorce thru present. I was shocked that such reimbursement was even legitimate. He said the mortgage would have to be refinanced by my ex-spouse to provide me with “the big” cash settlement for half the value of the equity if he did not have the cash available to pay. He asked for substantial info (past and current) bank, credit card and other statements, running up his fees. The majority of the past info he asked for was on the disc. I paid to obtain a lot of it. It prolonged the case, increasing his fees. He subpoenaed my ex-spouse’s info, and of course, that too was on the disc. The amount of my ex-spouse’s retirement was submitted in detail on the disc, however the number Weimer used was substantially less than what was originally submitted. At the hearing, the opposing attorney objected to reimbursement of my expenses without a rigorous process of verifying the expenses. Had he told me that at the beginning, I would have advised him not to pursue it. I rarely heard from Weimer directly over the course of 2 years. I emailed him to request a phone conf because I had not been informed of the progress of the case. I told him I would like to ask to be awarded the house that my ex and I resided in, which my ex currently lived in. He never introduced that to my ex’s atty or the hearings. There were 2 hearings. The first one, I had not rcvd any info or numbers from Weimer prior to. You really don’t have an opportunity to speak during the process in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana; your lawyer is crucial to how you fare out! The lawyers left the room and came back with a number that he told me was a very good offer and recommended that I accept it. I didn’t feel comfortable, not knowing what was entailed in the amount, and did not accept that settlement. I called him a few days later to ask what the source(s) of the funds were and how the funds would be paid. As usual, he was fast-talking and very arrogant and didn’t answer my question – instead, telling me what I should do with the money. I finally sent him an email asking if he or the opposing atty could provide me with a break-down of the offer. He finally answered me; everything was to be paid from my ex’s retirement accounts - no cash! I would have to incur a 10% penalty to use any of the funds. Well, I didn’t get the house; my ex got half of my personal injury settlement. Weimer claimed he didn’t’ have the stmt from the atty. Questioned, he said it wouldn’t have been sufficient anyway.) Funds awarded were done so in retirement funds only! My ex does NOT have to remove my name from the mortg. I have no interest in the property, but have to maintain the liability on my credit, hindering my ability to purchase a home. Unreal! Weimer said nothing on my behalf. I hope this review keeps someone else from my fate, using this arrogant, incompetent atty.
