With his medical background (he has an undergraduate degree in nursing and worked his way through law school as a Registered Nurse), Mr. Asher brings a wealth of knowledge when addressing matters involving personal injury and the healthcare field.  He has represented health care professionals in the Middle Tennessee area since 1993 in medical malpractice and discipline cases. Mr. Asher regularly defends companies and individuals in personal injury and product liability matters and has served as lead counsel in numerous catastrophic injury cases. He has served as Chair of the Section of Litigation of the Tennessee Bar Association and has lectured for many continuing education courses as well as courses at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and programs of the Tennessee Nurses Association. Mr. Asher was selected by his peers as a fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation. Mr. Asher has had articles published in The Tennessee Law Review, the Litigation Letter, Nursing Management, and O.R. Nurse.Mr. Asher has worked with property owners and outdoor advertising companies advising them on their rights in the use of their property.  He has presented cases to the Board of Zoning Appeals and has argued land use matters in Chancery Court and the Tennessee Court of Appeals.  Mr. Asher works extensively with outdoor advertising companies in obtaining approval for building and upgrading billboards.Mr. Asher served as lead counsel in Banks v. Elks Lodge, a personal injury case that resulted in a decision from the Tennessee Supreme Court that changed longstanding Tennessee law.  Mr. Asher prepared the legal briefs and argued successfully before the Tennessee Supreme Court, obtaining a ruling that resulted in a significant financial savings for his client.Mr. Asher is one of a very few lawyers across the country who is a member of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys.  His experience as a nurse and ability to resource with other nurse attorneys helps Mr. Asher in his ability to represent and defend clients in personal injury cases.A native of Nashville, Mr. Asher resides in the city with his wife, Elizabeth, and two children. He has served as Vice President of West End Synagogue and on the Board of Trustees of Akiva School. He volunteers for and has chaired Davidson County’s Teen Court Program.
