Fred Finch is an experienced trial lawyer who has practiced in the areas of employment and labor law, business torts, and related matters for more than 39 years. After graduating from William Mitchell College of Law, Mr. Finch became a shareholder at Fredrikson & Byron. In 1990, he joined Bassford Remele.He is an active and enthusiastic leader of the organized bar.  He is currently a member of the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association.  Among his other leadership positions, he has been President of the Hennepin County Bar Association, a member of the Assembly, Board of Governors and Executive Committee of the Minnesota State Bar Association and has twice received the MSBA’s President’s Award for his exceptional contributions to the organization.  He served as Minnesota State Delegate to the American Bar Association.  He has made substantial contributions to the profession as chair of the MSBA Rules of Professional Conduct Committee and a member of the MSBA Task Force on the 2005 Revisions to the Rules of Professional Conduct.  He served as co-chair of the MSBA Hurricane Katrina Task Force, which has provided more than $500,000 in assistance to legal services programs in the Gulf Coast area since September, 2004.  That effort won the Harrison Tweed award from the American Bar Association.  He was a member of the Minnesota Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee which led to the July 2009 comprehensive revision of the Minnesota Rules of Judicial Conduct.Mr. Finch was guest moderator on legal issues for KSTP Radio’s “Ask the Lawyer.” He has presented numerous lectures and written articles on employment law, labor law and lawyers professional responsibility.
