About
I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware and graduated from University of Illinois College of Law. Before becoming a lawyer I spent seven years as an active duty naval officer, completing tours on a destroyer, a minesweeper and at Naval Station, Great Lakes, Illinois. My tour at Great Lakes is what brought me to the Chicago area. After being admitted to the Illinois bar, I moved to Chicago to begin my legal career. In 2012, I partnered with a law school classmate to form Venis and Copp LLP. We have served the needs of clients in Chicago for more than three years and becoming a small business owner has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my working life. My practice includes representing individuals and businesses in banktruptcy, estate planning and probate, litigation real estate, education law and traffic violations. We offer free initial consulations to prosective clients and offer a variety of fee arrangements. We accept payment by all major credit cards and by PayPal.

I came in to contact with Mr. Venis through my contacts with the VA. I had unfortunately been charged with a class two felony. Mr. Venis was most excellent in his ability to represent my case, and notably great as he stood up for my rights throughout the case. Every request I made through him to the court was answered in our favor. He has a great heart and mind. We won the case!
Mr. Venis reviewed my employment contract prior to joining a large, multispecialty medical practice in the Chicagoland area. He was thorough in his review of the contract, knowledgeable in his understanding of important facets (compensation, malpractice insurance, etc.) that needed to be addressed in my contract, professional and courteous when dealing with my future employer and my requests, and prompt in addressing all of my requests. Mr. Venis came very highly recommended from a close personal friend, and it is very clear to me that that recommendation was spot on. I intend to seek out Mr. Venis' counsel in the near and distant future as the need arises.
I was in a sticky situation when I found Frank. My previous bankruptcy attorney had been anything but helpful, and had all but abandoned me when I needed him the most. I was very lucky to find Frank at that point. Once we were able to remove my previous attorney from my case, he helped me convert my chapter 13 to a chapter 7 because of medical issues that changed my situation drastically. Frank reviewed my entire financial situation and was the one to suggest changing from chapter 13 to 7. I honestly did not know that was even an option. Frank kept me very well informed, let me know exactly what documents he needed from me, and let me know what to expect once everything was processed. I had a significant amount of tax debt from previous 1099 work that was part of my payment plan on the chapter 13, but would not be discharged with the chapter 7. I was made to clearly understand this by Frank, and was able to prepare for it once my chapter 7 went through and my other debt was discharged. Frank maintained a very open, responsive line of communication with me. I would receive responses to questions sometimes within minutes. Every step of the way I knew Frank was doing his part and had my back. I really cannot say enough good things because there was not a single instant where I felt uncomfortable. Frank is a genuinely nice person and knew what he was doing every step of the way with my bankruptcy. I hope that this review helps you to find him.
For people who dont have time : 1. No Knowledge 2. Anger problems 3. lacks the basic thinking of - "hey , i should try to help this guy out " . anything can be fixed , but this cant be fixed Details : I had a very basic question on "inheritance process" . I explained in detail what I am looking for and also went to theprobate website and did a sample search and attached He called in a timely manner - and asks me to explain the issue. He did not even review the documents attached - not even look at them. I asked him to review so its easier. He hangs up and calls back a little later ( with in reasonable time ) and proceeds to talk . I bring up the second document , he says he only reviewed one. Now he gets off the call and sends me an email asking me to send the document to his email , I pull off my car - send him the document and he calls back . please note that this is a very simple and straightforward and generic question for an attorney . with in 2 minutes I understand that he doesnt have knowledge on the topic . On top of it , he has no intention to listen to you . He talked over me couple of times and I slowed down . He keeps deviating outsid eof the scenario under consideration . may be this is a way to hide your lack of knowledge . I keep trying to bring him back to our specific scenario and not any ifs and buts . He kept changing the answer as I asked why cant we do it this way ( basing on my research ) Finally he started raising his voice . Example of lack of basic knowledge : He doesnt even know that properties are transferred in inheritance through Trustees deed. He says they are transferred via Warranty Deed. May be a warranty deed could be used . But trustees deeds are common . i dont want to bore you with the details but if Avvo or anyone needs more , i can provide more detailed explanation . P.S: I understand that its only like 40 dollars for 15 minutes , and I dont have unreasonable expectations , I only used this service as it is a super straightforward qn
