Frances Elizabeth “Beth” Burgin Waller focuses on commercial litigation and medical malpractice defense. Beth’s practice ranges from representing corporations and directors in shareholder derivative actions to defending doctors and hospitals in malpractice claims. Beth also specializes in issues related to wine and beer law—representing Virginia’s wineries, vineyards and breweries.The Floyd native graduated magna cum laude from Hollins University with honors in English and creative writing. Prior to law school she attended the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia. Beth earned her law degree from the William & Mary School of Law.While in law school she was the senior notes editor of the William & Mary Journal of Women and the Law and was also a member of the William & Mary moot court team. Her note titled “Fire Where There Is No Flame: The Constitutionality of Single-Sex Education in the Commonwealth” was published in the William & Mary Journal of Women and the Law in 2007.She serves on the board for Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia and the WVTF Friends Council supporting Roanoke’s local NPR station.
