About
Lee was born in 1960 and grew up in Raleigh. In 1974, he moved with his family to the Knightdale area. Lee is the oldest of three children and graduated from East Wake High School in 1978. He attended Wake Technical College and eventually transferred to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Lee graduated from UNCC with a Criminal Justice degree in 1983. In August of 1983, Lee joined the Raleigh Police Department and served there as a patrol officer until 1992. During his time with the RPD, Lee was promoted to the rank of Master Officer. He served as a field officer and hostage negotiator, along with the other duties of a patrol officer. Lee received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certification from the State of North Carolina in 1989. Lee was recognized by the Raleigh City Council for his outstanding professional achievement in 1992. During his tenure with the RPD, Lee served as a patrol officer on each and every district within the city. This experience provided him with a unique insight and invaluable knowledge into the problems people from different walks of life face each day. Lee has taken that knowledge and understanding of people and relates them each day to his practice of law. During his time serving the people of Raleigh, Lee enrolled at North Carolina Central University School of Law and earned his J.D. degree in 1991. In 1992, Lee began his employment with the North Carolina Attorney General's Office in the Law Enforcement Liaison Section. As an Assistant Attorney General, Lee represented the State of North Carolina in various criminal and law enforcement related issues and authored appellate briefs to the North Carolina Court of Appeals. In 1994, Lee entered into private practice with Hughes and Associates. In 1997, Lee became a partner with the firm of Hughes and Turner and focused his practice primarily on criminal defense and law enforcement employment related issues. During his time in private practice, Lee has represented thousands of clients from all walks of life with charges ranging from traffic infractions to serious felonies. In 2001, Lee opened his own criminal defense firm as a solo practicioner. For over ten years, Lee has handled each and every client that has sought his representation. Lee's daily appearances at the Wake County Court House have given him extensive insight and knowledge of the court system and the individuals that work within it. Lee is married and has two daughters. They live in Zebulon area where his family breeds, raises, and shows American Quarter Horses nationally. He has a farm with numerous quarter horses, miniature horses, dogs, and cats. Lee is a member, trustee and Administrative Deacon of Zebulon Baptist Church and an avid fan of North Carolina State Wolfpack and the Boston Red Sox.

Mr. Turner is an absolutely amazing Lawyer! I was falsely charged with a DWI, and Mr. Turner was there for me the entire time to help calm my nerves, and explain the entire process to me. He was able to get my case dismissed, and I was able to leave without the record on my insurance, or the points on my license. I highly recommend using Mr. Turner if you are in need of a lawyer. He does the job well, and communicates the process to you so that you are not left in the dark.
Mr.Turner Is an amazing lawyer, I was on felon probation and wound up getting violated for not paying all my fees. Hired Mr.Turner and he got all my fees dismissed and my probation terminated! I hired lee to help me with a DMV hearing to try to get my license restored that were permanently revoked yrs ago for having 3 dui's within a 5 yr period.I had been told by other lawyers in the past that i would never get a license again.Lee started by clearing up some old stuff on my record that would need to be cleared so that i could start the process of getting acessments for the 3 old dui's and many hrs of adet classes.I spent nearly a yr getting everything done required to even get a hearing its not easy but worth it.I soon found that meeting all of the requirements is only half the battle and that you still have to go before a hearing officer and thats when you need a good experienced attorney like E. Lee Turner.I have changed my life and no longer drink but i am not sure that without Lee representing me and pleading my case that i would have gotten my license restored.Lee has alot of respect from the law enforcemnt community as he was an officer himself before becoming a lawyer.His character and integrity carries alot of weight.
