Eva was very thorough and explained the process well through a very tough time.
It was a long painful divorce that encompassed to many trips to court but Eva was able to cut through the acrimony and arrange a mediation session that ended the hemorrhaging of time and money in a settlement that I could live with and was pleased by. Eva was always available and did as much as possible through e-mail and phone calls. Eva set realistic expectations and did not waste any time on inconsequential items. Eva kept me focused on what was necessary to bring the matter to a close. I felt comfortable with her and trusted her completely.
Eva was courteous, helpful, supportive, insightful and professional in her mediation service for our divorce. I would recommend her for this service.
Eva was fantastic! Divorce is hard enough, even as friends, and Eva really knew how to tune in and find what works to keep negotiations going smoothly. I appreciated everything she did for us. Divorce Court was sad but seeing here there for us on that day was priceless! Thank you Eva!
I cannot possibly offer a higher recommendation for Eva. She represented me in my divorce a few years ago and was exactly the type of counsel I hoped for - no games, open communication, responsive, logical, reasonable and set expectations every step of the way. Although divorce is rarely guided by logic, Eva would not cater to irrational behavior and she cut through the clutter to bring the process to a rapid close. She always answered emails and calls quickly as well as made herself available for office visits if I needed. I very much liked that she doesn't take all clients (she is not interested in heated, emotional battles which waste money and time). She has been in the field for quite some time, established an excellent reputation, knows all the players (lawyers, family services, special masters, judges, clerks, etc) and can navigate the waters masterfully. If you want someone who can be trusted unconditionally and has your best interests in mind, Eva is the one! You will not regret your decision. Although my divorce concluded three years ago, I continue to seek her counsel as a friend and sounding board.
After 30 years of marriage we made an amicable decision to divorce. In order to minimize the pain involved, especially for our 26 and 19 year old children; and to keep the financial expense to a minimum, we chose to work with a mediating attorney. It was absolutely the right decision. Our choice with Attorney DeFranco was a perfect fit; I'm sure my former husband would also agree. She allowed us to set the terms based on our own needs, while insuring that it was a fair agreement for both parties. She also encouraged us to remain respectful toward each other during what can be a difficult process for families. I highly recommend her and would encourage contacting Attorney DeFranco for a consultation on mediation or if you're contemplating divorce. Based on how she handled our case, I would think she'd be extremely fair and considerate for all parties involved if you need to retain her individually should your particular situation not fit using a mediating attorney. Best of luck.
Eva was extremely helpful in guiding us through the divorce process. She kept my ex-wife and I focused on the business of the divorce -- and she "shut us down" when wondered into arguing. I liked her professionalism and direct questions. There were moments of tension between she and I. However, she made a point of personally discussing this tension to resolve it. I would recommend her to friends who unfortunately would be getting a divorce.
