I am a military veteran and was facing legal issues. Eugene and his office handled my situation with great care and the best customer service. He was able to get my case moved to military diversion and my chargers dropped. If you are a veteran and are in need of legal help I would highly suggest using his services.
I got arrested and charged for a violent crime and I was facing some serious jail time. Mr. Godwin was able to get me into a military diversion program and got all of my charges dismissed. During the military diversion process I faced a lot of adversary from the court and the people involved at the VA. They really wanted to throw the book at me. Mr Godwin fought to keep things manageable for me. Even the court people mentioned that I had one hell of a lawyer. That they had not seen anyone fight so hard for someone. Mr. Godwin is very intelligent and highly professional. I always felt complete confidence in him since our first meeting. Even when I was most afraid about my situation, he was able to put things into perspective and kept me calm. He wasn't just my lawyer, I came to think of him as a friend. In fact I was so confident in his abilities that I have hired him a second time to help me fight a new DUI case. We are currently working through this new case, and I am confident that I've made the best choice.
Mr Godwin spent a great deal of time explaining things to me. I am so glad I did not have to go through this frightening process alone. I am thankful to have had such excellent representation!
Mr. Godwin was incredible with me. He was insightful, and provided the most transparent guidance. I had a very difficult case (even for a first DUI), and he didn’t mince words during our initial consultation, and was very honest about the entire process. He didn’t over-promise and was very clear about how things could turn out. Even when things were looking grim he kept a positive tone and helped me approach my defense realistically, keeping me accountable and giving me all the pointers he knew would help me put a better foot forward for the court. If I fell short on his expectations and made his job of defending me harder, he would make it very clear to me, but would give me advise on how to turn things around and do better for future hearings. My case took longer to settle because of me, and I have no doubt it would have moved faster if I had listened to his advice from day one. Even so, he got me a great deal, and I went on to hire him for additional needs and will be using him on my motion for expungement. He’s a great person who truly cares and becomes personally invested in his clients. I see a genuine desire to help in his eyes. I can’t thank him enough for everything he’s done. If you need someone in your corner, you need to call him!
He is very a patient, understanding, empathetic and relentless attorney who looks out for your best interest, not the prosecutors or judges. He will really fight to defend your liberty and constitutional rights, as our freedom and liberty rights are taken away everyday by our government.
Gene Godwin is an amazing lawyer and an amazing person. It was by fate that I got his contact information and it was by fate that he helped me through a very difficult time for me and my family. He is very honest and very open. He is super informative and so very kind. If you need a lawyer that you can trust then Gene is the man for you! He did the impossible and that’s why I’m here to THANK him in return. He’s seriously one-of-a-kind!!! He takes his job seriously and he truly cares to make things right! He should change his name to “Godsent.” But all joking aside, you won’t regret it. I knew immediately after my first phone conversation that I’d be in good hands.
Okay, look, if you're reading this, you are probably where I was about 8 months ago. Simple, I went out on a date bought two bottles of wine which we split and was headed back to her place. Well, to make a long story short, it was (and still is) a very expensive date and that was the only time I went out with her. So, I got pulled over and spent the night in jail (Santa Ana). I had no idea what to do, who to call, how much to spend, should I get an attorney, etc. Luckily the taxi guy gave me Gene's card and said call "this guy." After speaking to a handful of attorney's and looking at the costs, I pulled the trigger with Gene. Why you ask? Simple, he seemed like a straight shooter and a nice office girl (Jane) who helps him. And, the cost was very fair!!! After stressing over so many items; DMV DL, Costs, Court, (my probation violation- unrelated misdemeanor), etc. He put my anxiety to rest!!!!!! All I can tell you is he knows what he's doing, is a solid attorney, spends the time to answer your questions, and is very fair on the pricing. I usually don't type reviews about anything on the internet, but I wanted to help the next person out who was in my pickle earlier in the year. If you are deciding what to do, talk to Gene and tell him "Wes said to call you, looks like you helped him out, I need help too," You decide, but I'm very grateful he was there for me and very professional!!!! Wes H.
Gene made a very difficult situation otherwise a lot more manageable. It was clear from the get-go that he was a quality attorney. He wasn't one of those dump-truck attorneys who filled my mailbox with ads in the days following my arrest and he never made grandiose promises as to what he could get me at the DMV or in court. He told me what the standard penalties were and didn't try to scare me into hiring him by telling me that I'd be going back to jail or anything (and even assured me that I wouldn't as it was my first offense). He, as well as his secretary Jane, were very knowledgeable and for the most part answered the huge number of questions which I feel bad about asking (there were a couple of times when he didn't respond, but I assumed he was just really busy). He also gave me updates after the DMV hearing, the arraignment and every pre-trial conference as to what happened and what he'd do next. What impressed me the most is how well he knew everyone involved. When he found out who was the DMV hearing officer, he told me exactly what she'd be like and even a bit about her background. Same with the Deputy DA and judge we faced in court. Sadly, we were up against an unsympathetic Deputy DA, so he wasn't able to reduce my alcohol class down to the three month, but he still managed to convert the lion's share of my fines into community service. All-in-all, definitely the guy to go to if you've made the mistake of getting behind the wheel after too much to drink.
Gene got me through a complicated first DUI situation. He is extremely knowledgeable and his staff will answer any question. What I was facing: 10 days jail, 1 year suspension, 9 month DUI school, and heavy fine. What Gene accomplished: No jail, 40hrs community service, fair fine, and only a 3 month school. Suspension still in place, but that's the DMV, not court. I recommend Gene and was glad I hired him to work my case. Lesson learned.....thanks! Remember....Never be afraid to ask your lawyer what they are doing exactly for you in each step of your case. What the strategy is, what your facing, and how they will proceed with particular arguments.
Great attorney, very professional his staff are very nice, he has a lot of experience and knows what he is doing i recommend this attorney and law firm to anyone :)
