About
I work as part of a group of attorneys and legal assistants at Case & Dusterhoff, LLP as a senior associate attorney. My goal is to help members of the community who need help navigating the legal system. I focus on probates and probate litigation, family law, and civil litigation. I feel that my skill in offering compassionate, skilled, and zealous representation offers my clients a unique experience with the legal system. I will say very frankly that I am not a "pitbull" or "bulldog" attorney. My style is comprised of problem solving and polite, yet aggressive, negotiation; however if the opposing party is not so inclined, I am willing to do what the law allows to fight for my client. I pride myself on my ability to work *with* as opposed to *against* the other party and her/his attorney while still maintaining my client's confidences and position.I previously had my own practice, in which I focused on landlord/tenant law, criminal defense, consumer law, and general civil litigation. I enjoyed working on my own, however I prefer working in a group environment and very much enjoy my time now spent with my legal assistants and my fellow attorneys. Having the opportunity to discuss and analyze cases with other attorneys who have had similar, yet unique, experiences with the law is invaluable. I also appreciate the opportunity for my clients to discuss their cases with my assistants when I am not available.I spent a year at the Multnomah County District Attorney's office during my final year of law school. While I was there, I gained a significant amount of court experience, doing trials, release hearings, and other court appearances. I continue to enjoy trial work, however I find that in many situations my clients are best served by settling the case and avoiding costly litigation.
