About

Erin A. Cook is the owner of Estate Planning of SC, LLC. Prior to starting her own firm in 2008, Erin spent 7 years as an associate with two highly respected firms in Columbia, South Carolina. Her practice concentrates on both taxable and nontaxable estate planning; probate and trust administration and prenuptial agreements. Erin received her B.A. in English from Winthrop University, her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2000, and her Masters of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida. While at Cumberland, Erin served as Student Materials Editor for the Cumberland Law Review, and her article, "Shining Lights at the Bar: Shakespeare's Portia as a Model for Female Attorneys," was published in 2000. Active in her community, Erin is involved with the Junior League of Columbia, Women in Philanthropy, Alliance for Women, Young Leaders Society of the United Way, and Community Opportunity Resource. She also serves on the Membership Committee of the Summit Club, and is a member of the following professional organizations: Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Bar Association, Estate Planning Council, and Columbia Tax Study Group. She is also a frequent lecturer on tax, estate planning, and probate and trust administration issues.
