Eric M. Zivitz is a Partner at Butler Pappas. He devotes his practice to the litigation and trial of complex cases in the areas of negligent/inadequate security, construction defect claims, wrongful death, products liability, trucking accidents, civil rights defense, premises liability, automobile negligence and employment discrimination. Eric has tried numerous cases to verdict throughout the State of Florida, and has extensive experience litigating in the South Florida region over the past 20 years. Eric has presented at several seminars before insurance claim professionals, attorneys and independent adjusters on subjects ranging from adjuster ethics, Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, negligent security and defending sexual harassment claims.Eric is an active member of The Florida Defense Lawyers Association, Dade County Bar Association, American Bar Association and DRI. Eric is admitted to The Florida Bar, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida (General Bar and Trial Bar) and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.Eric joined the firm of Butler Pappas in November 1998. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology in 1981 from Emory University and his Juris Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in 1986. While attending Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, Eric was Chief Advocate and Junior Editor of the Moot Court Society and was also a Leo Goodwin Research Fellow for Professor Johnny C. Burris. He is also rated AV by Martindal Hubbell.
