About
For over 30 years, Eric has dedicated his practice to the litigation and resolution of business, employment, civil rights, disability rights and whistleblower disputes. Eric has tried jury and bench cases in both state and federal courts in numerous jurisdictions, including but not limited to the District of Columbia, Maryland, New York, Tennessee, and Mississippi. He formerly served as a trial attorney in the Employment Litigation Section of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division where he enforced Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Mr. Siegel is Past President of the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association.Given Eric's more than 10 years pursuing real estate development and acquisition opportunities and pursuing other business ventures, he combines his business knowledge with his litigation and trial expertise to offer his clients a broader range of solutions to address their legal problems. He knows firsthand from the client's perspective what are the "needs" to resolve a given problem, rather than focusing only on the "wants" or "wishes" of the client, which lead to unrealistic expectations. Eric is a pragmatic thinker who uses many of the tools at his disposal to resolve complex legal disputes and counsels his clients accordingly.

Let me start by saying that I highly recommend Eric Siegel as an attorney. My husband retained Eric for his ADA case against a large educational institution in early 2019; we chose Eric due to his longstanding experience in private sector and at the DoJ with ADA related cases. He was highly ethical, very professional, most capable, and tireless. He represented my husband zealously to the full definition of the word. As my husband's health deteriorated due to his disability, Eric took all the weight off his shoulders and gave him peace of mind. We were very lucky having had him as my husband's lawyer. Eric negotiated a favorable deal for us and made sure that all our demands were properly addressed. During the negotiations he followed up every little detail and pushed as hard as he can for getting the best deal for my husband. After my husband's passing he continued watching over the execution of the settlement and made sure everything was done according to the settlement terms. Outstanding lawyer and a decent human being.
As it is probably the case with most people, I too did not know my attorney prior to hiring them. This created a sense of nervousness in me because I was unsure if I would find the qualities I would like to see in this person who would represent me. But all of this subsided when I hired Eric Siegel as my attorney. In short, he was a God-send. In the first 5 minutes of speaking with him, it was abundantly clear that he was the definition of professional and kind. Contributing to my first impression was the fact that Eric had to be out of the country for almost 3 weeks, yet he found adequate time to speak with me by phone about the details of my case. Due to the negative circumstances of my case, I was "down and out" to say the least. But upon speaking with Eric, I immediately had great hope that a favorable resolution could be found. Throughout our time working together, I was very impressed by Eric's hard work ethic, high intelligence and appropriate humor. He was always on time for our meetings, whether in person or on the phone. He also was punctual when it came to returning documents for my review. Furthermore, he gave sound legal advice and always clearly laid out the expectations and options for the next phase of my case. Finally, his words always had a way of making me smile as well as making me remember that there was light at the end of the tunnel. In short, he's the best. Because of Eric, my case came to a successful conclusion. He secured a great monetary compensation and other important guarantees. I am positive that not all attorneys are like Eric, but every one of them should aim to be like him because he genuinely cares about his clients from minute one.
Eric is an outstanding attorney. I have engaged him as my attorney for over 15 years. I retained him as both an employer and an employee regarding contract negotiations and he was able to identify key issues that my previous attorneys overlooked. In the most recent situation, as Board Chair we identified serious flaws in the employment agreement for the organizations senior management. As a result, we were able to correct these errors and omissions which lead to a more constructive and productive relationship between the CEO and Board. He has provided counsel for strategic planning and was able to structure employment agreements for the staff that fostered team engagement, enthusiasm for common goals, and alignment on milestones that benefit both the company and it's employees. Finally, he provided strategic and legal guidance for employee contracts for several companies that I worked for. I recommend Eric with the enthusiasm and have only praise for his work.
I suspect many are like me and when you're looking for an attorney (not related to routine business/personal matters), it's about one of the worst times in your life. There is so much uncertainty, anxiety and you want the BEST attorney to represent you. Someone that is going aggressively and steadfastly look out for your interests at every juncture, provide sage guidance and prod you when you need it and almost needless to say, be absolutely competent in their field. Eric Siegel delivered all that in spades. He worked tirelessly to move the case along to a final resolution (settlement). His attention to detail, his follow through, his confidant drive to win is exemplary. My case involved a construction contract dispute that was just about to bankrupt me. Our family has worked with business attorneys in the past and while they were fine, I wanted someone of a different caliber. I spent an ungodly amount of time doing online research. I suspect many of us may find our attorneys this way when we're in dire straights. I hope my efforts will save you some time. My advice is close your browser, contact Mr. Siegel's office, you won't find anyone better. Lastly, I was almost not going to contact him, because AVVO states only 5% of his practice is dedicated to construction. However his reviews were so good I made the outreach and good thing that I did. That 5% means nothing - he is so knowledgeable about the construction industry, contract law, homeowner's right, etc. It's as if 100% of his practice is dedicated to this arena. Hiring Mr. Siegel was one of the best decisions I could have made in this case and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone that requires an attorney.
I appreciate the guidance and professionalism that Mr. Siegel is providing for me. My situation is a complicated series of unfortunate employment matters touching issues involving state and federal law. Mr. Siegel always takes the time to explain the nuances and legal challenges in order for me to make the best decisions. I can recommend him without reservation.
This was my first time ever having to hire a lawyer. I was being discriminated against for my pregnancy and my company would not provide proper accommodations. A good friend referred me to Eric, and I couldn't have been happier. Eric was straightforward and to the point about what he could do for me. He took the time to discuss all the ends and outs and worked tirelessly to make sure everything was precise and clear to the point where I can say he helped me win my case. I appreciate his service and dedication to his clients. He treats you like family and I would also recommend him to anyone who need his services. I personally want to say thank you Eric for all your help and hard work, dedication and detailed skills and experience you gave to see my case through.
Eric Siegel was a true professional in handling my wrongful termination case. At first, I was uncertain how it would work having Eric represent me when I lived in another state and never actually met him in person, but all that uncertainty disappeared quickly after our first interaction. Eric impressed me from the first moment with both his concern for my case and his honesty regarding likely outcomes. Eric made it very convenient for me to handle all my affairs via email, phone or zoom. He was so flexible with me that I never had to step foot into his office, but that did not diminish the level of exceptional service he provided to me. Eric worked tirelessly to make sure that the truth was told in my case and presented it perfectly. He stood by every one of my requests and guided me through the entire lengthy process. Although we faced challenges, Eric did not falter. Eric was ethical, honest and extremely knowledgeable and kept me informed every step of the way. He was easily accessible and was always the one to communicate with me personally (not having his staff call me for him) and promptly answered my emails/calls sometimes even on the weekends and holidays. He worked diligently and professionally always having my best interest. I really felt during this process that I was not just a client but a partner working towards a common goal. I found him to be supportive as he fought to get the best possible settlement without having to incur the costs of going to trial. He was effective in his negotiation techniques throughout the mediation resulting in a favorable outcome. Although I acquired his services through the National Whistleblower Center, I never once was treated as anything other than a valuable client by Eric. My recommendation to any and everyone is that you can take comfort in knowing that if you retain Eric Siegal for your legal needs, you have hired the very best!
Mr. Siegel was very responsive to all emails pertaining to my case. He as successfully settled out a claim for me towards an institution which resulted in job placement. I will recommend Mr. Siegel to anyone for all legal representation.
I hired Eric Siegel to handle a complex termination from a national corporation. Mr. Siegel handled my matter expeditiously and negotiated a favorable outcome, much more favorable than I anticipated. I would highly recommend Mr. Siegel's services.
I am a commercial real estate agent and left one firm for another. Upon my exit, I required a labor attorney to provide guidance and assist in the exit negotiations. A friend in the business recommended Eric and advised that he was versed in the labor law with a strong resume representing clients such as myself. Eric was knowledgeable, professional, to the point and had my best interest at heart. In the end, we arrived at an amicable agreement and I was able to move on. I was more than pleased with his services. Should I find myself in the same position or know of anyone in the same situation, I would use/recommend Eric wholeheartedly.
