I worked closely with Eric off and on over the past two years. He is always forthcoming and very direct. What I like best about him is he doesn't tell you what you want to hear; he tells you what you need to hear. In my experience he was well organized and on top the situation. Eric has tremendous experience and a deep network of collogues to draw referrals from. I am very pleased with Eric's performance and the handling of my case. Top notch attorney. I would recommend him to anyone with a custody/removal case.
1st contact 1986, guided me through divorce I initiated and protected me from post-divorce harrassment in 1989, and then did followup to aid a religious organization being sued. Also worked with me for several months ending in 2001 to get a Freedom of Information Act filing for an FBI record for my professional research with success (after 16 year effort). Firm and decisive, gained respect of opposing attorney to resolve differences, reassuring while respecting limitations. Would highly recommend him.
Eric helped me through a devastating divorce. I did not know where to turn, and Eric really came through more than I could have hoped for. The law has it's own language, and Eric helped me understand exactly what I needed to know. Emotionally I felt supported the entire time, though he still gave me the stark facts, even though they were not always easy for me to hear. We never had to go to court, but the separation agreement that was signed was very fair to me and my family. Truthfully, I am not an easy client, because I was very emotional but Eric really helped me through this difficult period in my life. I first hired Eric in 2005, with the help of family! Thank the lord I am doing better now and still use Eric as my family attorney.
The key to legal counsel is that you must understand what it is that you are getting. Lawyers do not work miracles; they use the legal system to debate your point and try to, based on previous decisions get the outcome most desirable for their client. Let me tell you a little about Eric; I met with him told him a little about my case and what I wanted to do. I wanted representation and legal advice while I attempted to complete forms and manage my case. We discussed a retainer which was more than reasonable (only about 3 hours of work in advance), and I retained him. He guided me through some tough issues and when the time came to file a motion and enter an order of appearance, Eric was prepared. All of the advice that I received was spot on and despite my reservations, he was able to work out an agreement with opposing counsel that gave me 90% of what we were asking for in our motion. When issues or questions came up, we discussed them and I pointed the direction that I wanted to go, but I always made sure that the direction had legal precedence. Did I get everything that I wanted, No, but in all reality, what I wanted just was not going to happen. I knew that and had that expectation going in. What Eric provides is the advice that gets you the best outcome. Eric is also the best communicating lawyer I have ever worked with. I received call backs within 24 hours and we never missed a filing deadline. He even called me a few times on weekends when I had urgent issues. I received the advice and representation that I paid for and would recommend Eric to anyone!
Eric's expertise and network of resources proved invaluable in a very challenging custody case. My son was saved from an unhealthy situation due to Eric's knowledge and persistence. We are forever grateful.
I don't believe Eric Ruderman ever kept my interest in mind, to my opinion he didn't study the case at all and looked so lost and confused in the court that the court onlookers asked me why did I hire this guy, or where did I find this guy ? For the majority of the time he was fumbling through his exhibit folder looked like he was trying to figure out his own filing system. Eric Ruderman has 30+ years of practice but he was run over in court by a first year law graduate just because he was not prepared. Also he offered me a flat rate but charged me a lot more, so don't believe any estimate or flat rate that he offers. I got fooled by Eric ruderman for his professional look and sincere talk, my worst decision.
The absolute worst decision I could have made. Tells you what you want to hear in the beginning, but never has your best interest in mind. I spent well over 10,000 dollars for services that will now effect me and my family for the WORST for the next 15= years. Do yourselves and your family a favor and hire anyone else. OTHERWISE YOU WILL REGRET IT.
