       Emily Ellison is a Longmont attorney who specializes in Family Law. Emily focuses her career on assisting people involved in tough legal situations. Her goal is to use her legal career to create a positive impact on society.  She does this by listening to her clients’ needs, understanding how to guide their case to meet those needs, and fighting to obtain results.  A dedicated and curious law student, Emily graduated in the top 25% of her class from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.​      Emily’s academic success in law school landed her a dual judicial externship with Colorado Supreme Court Justice Brian D. Boatright and Jefferson County District Court Judge Christopher C. Zenisek. An inside perspective of the legal system gives Emily unique insight into how judges make decisions and write orders. Her experience taught her to effectively counsel clients to achieve the best possible outcome in their case. Sometimes that means advising clients to negotiate an out-of-court settlement, and other times taking a case to trial.​      Eager to gain courtroom experience and begin advocating while in law school, Emily represented clients who were unable to afford an attorney and successfully obtained civil protection orders and defended a client from eviction.​      In order to better understand the local legal community and the nuts and bolts of family law, Emily worked at an established Longmont divorce firm prior to starting Ellison & Ellison Law. Emily understands that clients faced with divorce or child custody issues are going through one of life’s hardest experiences—one that affects the most personal and basic needs. Emily will listen to your concerns and use her knowledge of the legal system and passion for advocacy to put you at ease and guide you to obtain the best result in your case.
