About
Silverman is my maiden name. My father was Cecil Silverman, a jewish shop owner in Dublin Ireland who served in the RAF in World War II. My mother, Margaret Silverman, was a Catholic apprenticed as a baker and confectionare in Dublin where she met my father. At the time, marriages between different religions was not allowed. They came to America to be married. While my background was probably lower middle class, I always felt extremely privileged. I was well loved and ate better than most adults I know. I attended a Catholic private school until 9th grade when I started in the public schools. I learned to argue in Catholic schools. The nuns wanted us to believe that only Catholics go to heaven. My fellow classmates were relieved when we didn't finish our classwork on the occasions where I spent alot of class time disagreeing with the nuns. I wanted to be a lawyer since I was 12 years old. I got my first job when I was 12, working in a battery and television tube warehouse for $1.00 an hour. When I turned 16, I worked at the White Castle at 8 Mile and Woodward. I continued waitressing until I started law school. I worked at the Golden Mushroom under Chef Milos, the Troy Hilton Hay Market and Machus Red Fox. I was able to qualify for a Michigan Competitive Scholarship which paid for most of my tuition and books at University of Michigan-Dearborn where I earned by Bachelor's Degree. I attended Wayne State Law School and graduated in 1984. I love what I do for a living. I have a general practice which includes real estate, wills, collections, litigation, estates, business law and family law. I tend to specialize in litigation and family law. I believe that I am ethical and have no problem recommending a client to another attorney if I feel the other attorney would do a better job. i am also not afraid to be honest with my clients and will tell you if, in my opinion, you do not have a case. I moved from Royal Oak to Clarkston in 2007 with my husband of 26 years, Ronnie Rockman. I have two large rescue dogs which help keep me fit with regular walks. Following in my mother's footsteps, I also love to cook and to garden.

I came to Elizabeth 3 years ago with a pile of paperwork, a lot of stories and a drug addict mother of my son. After looking through my very unorganized evidence of what’s been going on for a few years, she explained to me that I have a case. She said with honesty that this is a very “different” case considering the drugs, alcohol, mental instability, etc and being able to prove all of this. She admitted that this kind of case is more rare than others but she would study all areas of everything going on in my case and represent me to the best of her ability. Now fast forward 3 years, tons of court dates in front of our referee and judge, a 2 day trial and even more court dates in front of our judge, post trial. I now have full custody of my son. He is out of harms way and is the happiest he’s ever been. Elizabeth went above and beyond. She accepted all my calls, she called me regarding issues and has fully been just as involved in every aspect of this case as I have been (which is ALOT). She has completly took it upon herself to further her education regarding the very “different” aspects of my case such as drugs, how the mom is beating drug tests while still being high, different affects from different drugs and alcohol, getting medical records showing the mental instability and much much more. NOT TO MENTION, I AM A DAD. We all know courts can be a little biased towards fathers. Thanks to Elizabeth Silverman, my son is safe and happy. It’s been a extremely long road but Elizabeth has been here for me every step of the way. Not only as my lawyer but as my advisor and even sometimes my therapist. All while seeming like a good friend. I would also like to add, Elizabeth only hires the best Paralegals there is in the state of Michigan. I could not write this post without saying how great they all are but especially Gina. Gina has been here for me for so much and was always just a call away to talk me through my troubles and help with anything I needed. If you want a great lawyer, with a equally great team behind her, to fight for you, Elizabeth Silverman is number one. I’ll stand by that until the day I die. Respectfully submitted, A very well represented father
Dear Elizabeth, It was my pleasure to have you as my lawyer and my counselor during my divorce trial. Having some ideas that divorce is very painful procedure, yet I could not even imagine that a person whom I considered my best friend and the most closed person (my ex-wife) turned into the bitterest enemy. Your professionalism, your excellent knowledge of judicial system helped me tremendously during the divorce trial. What impressed me, that you pay your attention to big issues, as well as to little or even tiny problems. It is your big role in Macomb County Court’s decision to award me not only with joint legal custody, but also with joint physical custody. (Later I found out that it is not often for men in Michigan to be awarded with joint physical custody.) Based on my experience, I can advise to person who is going to get divorce, try to avoid it. If there is no way to avoid divorce, then talk to your spouse, try to solve problem peacefully. But if it doesn’t work, I really can recommend person, who is facing divorce, use service of my lawyer Elizabeth Silverman. Elizabeth will do her best to get the very satisfactory (at least) results for her client. I really appreciate your huge help to me during the divorce trial and after divorce was finalized. Respectfully, Felix.
Elizabeth Silverman is my attorney for longer than ten years. Instead of boasting empty promises, she advocates for honesty and fairness; both hard to argue against. In court, she is magnificent. Elizabeth is determined to win your case by working with the judge and his court. Judges appreciate, that Elizabeth offers the root cause of her case to the court in simple but very effective terms, which saves time. She is the attorney you really want on your side. Elizabeth is very intelligent, caring and professional on every level. In particular, she feels the greatest pain and compassion for the real victims of every divorce, our children. She offers counseling for them as part of the divorce. Her rates are fair, but Elizabeth and Sandy deliver much more bang for your buck than most attorneys who charge the same. You can tell, I am very satisfied and I know you will be too. Elizabeth Silverman is a great attorney and her law firm has never let me down. Dave Dare, Royal Oak, MI 248-544-8834
Mrs. Silverman is providing me with legal representation in a lenghty and complexlegal matter in the state of Michigan. Her efforts on my behalf are outstanding! She has exhibited a, "deep knowledge" of the law and, "superior communications skills." Additionally, the wise counsel, tireless effort, and empathy she has shown in my case is, in my opinion, excellent examples of her legal expertise. In closing , let me say, "I would highly recommend Mrs. Silverman to anyone in need of "to notch" legal representation." Sincerely, Warren M. Howe
When my marriage of 32 years ended abuptly, I was completely at a loss of how to proceed. From the first interview meeting throughout the entire divorce procedure, Elizabeth provided not only the best legal direction & representation for me, but her compassion & empathy helped me to remain sane through what at best is an awful process. She is direct, patient, kind, and in my opinion very well suited to her profession. I would not hesitate to give her my highest recommendation.
