In sports terminology, employer attorney "dunked on him." They kicked his butt. Joe did not "zealously defend" me, as required. I appealed to Elizabeth Fujiwara, as she is senior partner in the matter. She refused to assist and clean up the mess. Instead, she kicked me out of their firm and threw ALL my money back at me. Elizabeth and Joe left me in a WORSE position than when I started. They walked way from me for having a "frank discussion" as HI Disciplinary Board advises. I simply offered what I believed was a more winnable strategy. I then wrote my own brief, submitted to the Hawai'i Civil Rights Commission, and they filed a complaint against my former employer. I'm not an attorney and seemed to have written a better legal argument than these two. Fujiwara and Rosenbaum didn't appear to act competently. They certainly didn't represent me well or zealously. They seemed to enjoy watching my former employer get the best of me. And when I complained, they kicked me out and threw my money back at me. I haven't cashed their checks. Concerned this is legal malpractice. To date, they have refused to return my case files; assist me finding new representation; and won't even clarify what was a "proposed" counter offer they made to company on my behalf. I'm still unclear on all they did and didn't do. Hired in March; now it's mid-September.
